Congrats on three years on TSD Neal!! :bounce017:

That's a great backstory on your beginnings and the 30DC. Like you said, at the core, TSD is a shaving forum - but it goes way beyond that. It's people from all over the world, and all walks of life - and 99.9% of the time everyone is very cordial. Unlike many other forums on the web, it's not a bunch of people berating others for "not being as awesome as them" or "if you aren't using XXX brand, then your stuff is junk". Thankfully, in a world full of trolls, TSD (particularly the 30DC) is the complete opposite. This thread proves that there are nice, compassionate people out there.

Thanks for all that you contribute to this place! It wouldn't be the same without you! Even if there aren't any cookies....;)

Great photo of your "retro shave" as well!

Oh, there are cookies. There have always been cookies. There will always be cookies. When the current misguided uprising is put down there will be even more cookies for those who love Big Brot....ummm, I mean shaving.

I checked out Rudy Vey's website. He does great work. The pens are gorgeous - just too nice to waste on my awful handwriting!

Fantastic Brian! Some excellent gear there! Which bowl is that? Are the ribs inside textured?

    Razor: Stick Schick Injector
    Blade: ???
    Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Another shave with the Stick Schick razor. In yesterday's SOTD, I said this razor was loaded with a Chick blade. Afterwards, Andrew asked me if I had ever used a Proline in an L-series. I'm pretty sure that I have and had good results, but this got me doubting what blade was actually loaded in the Stick. Since the only way to be sure would be to remove the blade, I'm going to say that I just don't know anymore.

I've gotten into the habit with my Injectors of taking a bit more care of the blade after the shave and then just using the blade until it feels like its done. So, it will probably be a while before I know what blade was in this razor.

Either way, another great shave. This one managed to catch the baby with no issues.

No photo today, partly due to laziness, partly due to the fact it'll end up looking just like another setup I posted recently....

Today's shave was brought to me by the following:
Razor: WCS closed comb (89 style head)
    Brush: JR113
Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
    Blade: Astra SP

I was thinking of Adam @Drygulch this morning, which led me to use the Jeeves he sent recently. The JR113 did a marvelous job of lathering the soap up. The brush had a nice amount of lather loaded up, so I skipped the bowl today and went straight to the face. It was thick, rich and slick. Three passes and I'm good to go. Normally I can get a full week out of an Astra, but the blade signaled that it's submitting its retirement papers. It was a bit tuggy and rough. I still managed to squeak out a good shave with only one tiny weeper.

Against my better judgement, I spied the Chiseled Face Midnight Stag aftershave sample in my cabinet and went with that. Now I smell like I just crawled from underneath a car with a leaking gas tank. Fortunately, my wife is at work and she won't be home until after I leave for work. :)

Adam, I hope everything is OK and your crew is doing alright as well with the bad news.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!
