@gorgo2 posted a thread on here a few years back on how to modify the blade. It seemed fairly easy to do. Read up on the history of the Segal razor. Interesting stuff!
Thanks, excited to try something new. I just pm'd Jorvaljr about the blades. Merry Christmas Jim, I hope it finds you and the Mrs in good health and Santa brings you both something extra special this year!
All I did was, use a small pair of metal snips (or maybe small scissors, can't recall) to carefully cut that oval baseplate shape out of a new stainless blade. It worked fine. The Segal's cap, as you know, clamps down very tightly so it will hold the modified blade in place evenly even if that football isn't cut out quite perfectly. Was the shave worth going through that trouble on multiple stainless blades? Not for me, so I parted with it. But it was a fun experiment.
I think I can do that. Thanks to @PLANofMAN i have a great new pair of Wiss scissors to try cutting the blades with, lol.
It occurred to me later (but I don't recall trying it) that DE blades split in half might also work once the center is cut right, which would be easier to do with a halved blade. The cap should clamp down on half-blades tightly enough to hold them too, I'm pretty sure.
This may be the longest raffle we've had. In an effort to speed this up, I'll ask folks with active tickets to look over the remaining prizes. If you are not interested in any of them, please let me know I can skip your ticket(s). You can just post "not in".
This has probably been the most fun raffle we’ve had. I think everyone is enjoying it! Thank you queen of blades!
England Dan&John Ford Coley: DIDN'T KNOW IT WOULD LAST SO LONG(from Nights Are Forever Without You, but it can be said about this raffle, too).
Not In already won once ... thank-you @Queen of Blades for all your hard work on this raffle and thanks to everyone who donated prizes
