I knew it! And now someone else posted a photo of their PRC this morning. I take it they must be pretty good if you guys run them. I've yet to try a strait but I have picked an artisan I'd like to have, Alex Jacques. But dang they get expensive....FAST!

    I have a Hydra, but I haven't used it in a while. It's a nice razor.

    December 22

Dorco Pace 3 disposable cartridge razor (2)
    Neutrogena Sensitive Skin shave cream
    Unrefined shea butter

    Used the Dorco again today.
Smeared on the gel and scraped away.
    The razor feels light,
But the shave was just right.
    Tomorrow the Weber’s in play.

    Face Shave
Pre-shave: early morning walk with the dogs, black coffee and a hot shower
    Brush: Barburys by Sibel
Soap + Cream: Williams Mug Shaving Soap + Barburys by Sibel Shaving Cream whipped up in a Suribachi bowl
Razor: Gillette Fat Boy E-4 (dialed in at #4)
    Blade: Wilkinson-Sword (5)
Post-shave: Assured WH, Nivea Sensitive Skin PS Balm, C.O. Bigelow Barber Cologne No 1585 (Elixir White)

    Head Shave
Everything was the same except I dialed the Fat boy to #9

I molested the Williams soap this morning, and commented more on this combination. If you're interested it's at http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/barburys-by-sibel-shaving-cream.58303/

I achieved a pretty, however, mediocre lather from the Williams + Barburys shaving cream combo, but in the interest of wet-shaving science I maintained my focus and continued my shave this morning in spite of the high probability for personal harm. I managed a DFS on my face shave after 2 primary passes.... which I did fairly quickly because of the mediocre lather. It had been about 7 days since I last did a head shave so I did that too. At first I kept the Fat Boy on #4 but as soon as I started a short stroke on the side of my scalp (where I have a lot of hair growth) it plugged up quickly. I dialed the razor to #9 and kept going. I still had to take short passes but it cut through with patience.... no tugging from the blade so I knew the blade was still working well. Ultimately I achieved a CCS on my scalp with a nick on the crown.

    Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Great photo Dan. We have a similar pre shave routine. I have a Belgian Malinois that I take for a long walk each morning before starting my day.

Great set up for a midnight shave, John. I'm sorry you are having to go through such a tough time right now.
Keith, I hope you feel better soon, my friend.
Very tough times, Adam. I'm sorry you and your team members have to go through it.
Simple decadence - I like it! Neal, congratulations on your third anniversary. You make it all happen here for us, my friend.
Absolute decadence! I hope you wound up having a short day at work, Clint.
Your Aristocrat is a beauty, Mark!
Lots of talk about PRCs, and yours is a looker, Brian. Gonna have to get mine out again soon.
    Another beautiful Toggle!
Love the Christmas photos, Doug! You're motivating me to do another focus with my FB next year.
Great set ups, Jason! I always like the vintage look of your SOTD photos. Enjoy your time off work with your family.
There's our little 30 DC man! No doubt, you guys will have a wonderful Christmas, Andrew!
Just awesome, Dan. You and your Bride are the pace setters for wonderful Christmas SOTD photos!

I wish everyone here a very Merry Christmas. I'm thankful for the friendships I've developed here over the past few years. Thanks for putting up with my brand of humor. If I've said anything to offend you this year, I didn't mean it, as far as you know. :) You can say it many different ways, but the 30DC is special group of folks, and this is a really cool corner of the Internet.

Several of you are going through some tough times now, and you are in my prayers.

I plan to drop out for a few days after tomorrow, but I plan to join back up with you in January for more Shaving, Shenanigans, Tom Foolery, and Malarkey. Roll Tide!

    Cool set-up, Adam.

Glad you had a wonderful evening with your bride. Have a Merry Christmas, Charlie!

Good picture! Sorry you had to go to work. I'm retired now (6 months) but I know the hassle of working on days off, holidays or the middle of the night. The nature of my work was I was on-call 24/7. I loved it however it was burning me out... now my stress level has gone down significantly.

That is a beautiful razor, Mark!

    Well-done, Brian!
    Nice looking Toggle!

Nice picture, Doug. I noticed you're doing more indoor.... how's the weather there? It's cold here today (23 F, 8 F wind chill).

Nice shaves with some nice gear, Jason!

Thank you, Clint. Belgian Malinois are great dogs! My two labs and I enjoy those early morning walks (unless it's extremely cold then they're shorter).
