Pre-shave: Black coffee then a hot shower
    Brush: Marvy Boar
Soap: Stirling Noir (courtesy of @SmokeShowing PIF)
Razor: Gillette Slim adjustable J-2 (1964) setting #5
    Blade: Wilkinson-Sword (6)
Post-shave: Dickinson's Original 100 per cent WH, Nivea Men Crème, C.O. Bigelow Barber 1581 Cologne (Elixir Black)

This will likely be the last shave until Tuesday or so. On a whim, I grabbed the Gillette Slim adjustable and gave the Fat Boy a day off. The Slim is new to me as well and this was it's inaugural shave in my den. I dialed it to #5 and didn't think twice about. Two passes around the face, being careful to preserve the goatee, and some neck clean-up and I located the baby in a game of hide-and-seek. I had a little irritation on the neck but nothing the post shave products couldn't resolve quickly.

Today is the first time I used the C.O. Bigelow cologne from Bath and Body Works. I tried the tester bottle in the store and I liked it, so I bought one for me and one for the eldest son for Christmas. The scent I got from the tester bottle lasted for several hours on me. The box it comes in says, "Elixir Black blends exotic agar wood and Tonka bean with undertones of amber, musk and vanilla." After my shave routine I gave the scent the Bride-test. She said, "Oooh, I like that." So, I have a winner! ;)

I'll keep checking back and see how everyone is doing. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Safe travels and enjoy the company of loved ones. :santa

I'm finally caught up with the posts on this thread. Instead of duplicating other multi-quotes let me just say you all had inspiring presentations of your shave gear. Merry Christmas all!

I have a Shavemac Silvertip D01. It's a great knot. Soft, yet enough backbone to load even hard milled soap easily.

Fuzzy, thanks for the kind offer. I appreciate it. For $25, I think I'll pick one up for my Den. It seems like a great value, and I can't imagine I won't like it. I have used a Feather Artist Club shavette, so I sorta know what I'm gettin' into. And I can always PIF it to @clint64 later. :happy102:

That's a beauty, Randy. Your Dad has a wonderful talent. I have a 24mm Shavemac Two-band Silvertip with a 46 mm loft in a Rudy Vey Chubby handle. It has great backbone and soft tips. I really like it.

That razor looks fun. Is there one place better then another to pick one up?

Fuzzy, it's a nice razor, and it's fun to use. I've use mine with both the Feather Pro and Super Pro blades. Some folks claim it bites more that other shavetttes, but I don't yet have anything to compare it against. Amazon has a good price: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0060QYUP4/?tag=thshde-20

I initially saw it in use here:

When I first read this, it cut off "grandmother's purse". Gave your description a whole different perspective.
