This razor gives great shaves if given the respect it deserves. I do pay attention when using it

It is fun, but not very forgiving. This one gave me my dueling scar.
    I bought mine on Amazon.

Can’t go wrong. The density you would get is hard to find elsewhere, nearly impossible in terms of knots available for sale.

It depends what you like, do you want allot of backbone? Then the DO1 has more backbone than any other 2 Band or Manchurian knot I have ever experienced. If you want a soft, luxurious pillow of lather then go for their silver tips.

    Sunday shave:

I went with my Filarmonica and some Tabac for the Christmas Eve morning shave. The Tabac was.... well Tabac, wet and slick. The edge was very sharp and smooth, but I have to say I hate these scales. Four passes and just a tickle from the alum but a very smooth face.

    Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A Sharpness A+

    Razor: Filarmonica 12
    Stop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: Elite Razor Manchurian White
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Tabac
    AS: Spieck AS, L’Occitane ASB
    Scent: Tabac

I already have a pretty good collection of scars. a few more will not hurt. For the record most if them are not shaving related scars.

    Decadent December!!!

    December 23

Razor - Delta Echo New LC
    Blade - ladas-super-stainless.jpg (3)
Soap - Oleo Soapworks El Caballero
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

How about a change of pace. Today had a couple of those for me including getting to change a flat tire before coming home. Haven't had to change a tire in years! Guess it was my turn.

Decadence tonight came in the form of the Delta Echo New LC with a Ladas blade. I've always had this blade in my top 5 or so and just don't load it up too often. Not sure why. Decadence on decadence would be the Jayaruh #54 with El Caballero soap. Fantastic creamy and slick lather, and enough to go around for everyone. Great scent too and my wife likes it a LOT so looks like I may need to keep this one around.

Three full passes just because I can, the baby is in the house, and all's well. If you don't count the donut on my right rear wheel. But, that gets fixed tomorrow. No worries or complaints. Too much decadence to finish the day to let anything throw me off my game.

Saturday December 23 just before midnight - sample fun

Delta Echo Ink black Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Gillette Platinum Plus (4)
Supply silvertip synthetic fibre 24mm brush
    B&M Latha Figgy Pudding sample
    Alum and Lucky Tiger

Today's soap was originally Sample J in the @Vlasta Mystery Cream Challenge. I had a bit left over so I decided to use it today. I have several other samples of B&M Latha and regular tallow soaps that I will start using tomorrow.

I squished the small sample out in the bottom of my horn quaich and then lathered it with a damp synthetic brush. As I did, I added water. I kept adding more and more water, and the soap just kept producing more and more mounds of slick shiny lather. I quit when the bowl was overflowing; I sensed that the lather was no where near breaking yet and, in fact, there was still a bit of unused soap left in the bottom of the bowl when I cleaned it at the end. Impressive. I lathered up for three passes and had enough left for probably another three passes. All from a bit of soap the size of a small almond.

The scent was great. Spicy and very Christmasy, although I couldn't tell you exactly what it was. But very pleasant.

Three passes went slick and smooth. The alum was a bit warm in spots afterwards -- I think I have done a few too many three-pass shaves in a row lately. I didn't have a scent that would exactly go with the soap but in the end went with Lucky Tiger's Christmas orange.

    Overall, a great shave.

Great looking filter effect Kevin. Happy Holidays.

Great looking Delta Echo New LC.

Great shave report John. I am happy to see additional scents for the Latha line. The original scent left a lot to be desired.

Today is my 53rd birthday. I am looking forward to a going out for a birthday lunch with my wife and girls followed by a leisurely afternoon. Any remaining birthday celebrations will get rolled into our Christmas celebrations later this evening. Since I decided to let one of the ladies take Mocha for her walk today, I got to go ahead and get in a relaxing shave. The Rossa was easy to load and lather. The DK7 is just a joy to use face lathering with such an ergonomic shape and the scrub of the knot. The 3 pass shave required buffing along my jawline and lower right neck to finish with my normal results. All in all, an excellent shave with no nicks, weepers or irritation. I will just sit back and enjoy my coffee in peace while the rest of the house awakens at their pace. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Shavemac knots are excellent knots. I have 3 different bushes/knots from them. (Finest, D01 and D01 2 Band) . They really have a knot for almost every taste. I would suggest that first you take a look at this page that describes their different knots. The video at the bottom is quite informative as well. ( the deutsch page actually had the english wording)

    https://www.shavemac.com/badger_qualities.html?language=de

Then take a look at the knot configurator page. Please pay attention to the note at the top of the page. Unlike most other vendors, you are ordering the finished loft. Shavemac gives specific instructions on the diameter and depth of the hole required.

    https://www.shavemac.com/products/Configurator/Shaving-Knot-Configurator.html

The last thing is to be aware the price includes 19% VAT that you will not pay. This will be deducted as you check out with a shipping address to the USA. Good luck with research and decision.

Actually may be more accurate that way. I’m probably in the minority here, but I’m not a fan of the smell of Tabac.

Happy Bithday, Clint! Nuavia is a good start.
