I love shaving with the old Sheffield wedges. The blades are just SO smooth. This particular one is kind of a pain to hold onto while stropping. A guy really has to be careful.

I cut myself on this one. A real cut, not a little nick or scratch, and the first one in months. It was completely stupid too: I am in the middle of a downward stroke on my lower jaw, and somehow a synapse fired in my brain and decided it would be a great time to stretch the skin up and to the right. I am literally telling myself “don’t do that you idiot, and Damn, this one is going to bleed” at the same time. I figure it was because we were going to a Christmas party at our friends, and at the same party last year, I was about two weeks into this little experiment, and battling it out with an ornery Feather SS. I had like three different healing cuts, which became the topic of conversation. So it just made sense I would need one last night.

Great photo and lineup Jared. The translucent scales on the razor look fantastic.

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
    Lather: Stirling Scots Pine Sheep
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Doesn't get much easier than this. The Stirling sheep soap produced thick, rich, and beautiful lather made with light effort from the Kong brush. The Schick 66 took down the whiskers with ease. All came together quite well.

Merry Christmas Eve to all in the 30 day crew! I hope you are filling your time with family and friends and carrying on your traditions, whatever they may be. One of our traditions is to go eat Christmas Eve lunch at Waffle House! We started that years back by accident when we needed to get some last minute groceries and a Waffle House was across the street. It's always open so we ducked in. The waitresses were all wearing festive gear and it turned out to be really fun. Today's visit was just as fun and the tradition is set firmly in place.

    Enjoy your day!

    Thank you, Doug!

Absolutely! We remarked we should go more often than just once a year.

Thank you, Clint! It's certainly a lighthearted and fun tradition. Hope you're having a stellar birthday.
