    Tonight’s shave before church followed by s family dinner at my Mom’s. It was a wonderful evening.

    My late night shave not long before I start work. I have the telephone arrest line on the late shift today, as usual. I am hoping it will be quiet tonight, with the criminals and therefore the police taking it easy. It's about -25C with a wind here, which usually helps cool things down.

    Anyway, the shave... I used another sample tonight and went with Taiga for its Christmasy (to me) smoky pine scent. About a fifth of the sample tub was enough soap for several passes of lather - more than I needed. I haven't used B&M soap before these samples and am impressed with the Latha line's performance. And I understand the tallow Glissant and Reserve lines are even better..

    I liked the handling of tonight's black-handled Muhle brush better than yesterday's black fibre one (the one with the translucent handle in the photo). The loft is a bit lower and better proportioned to me and just seems to work better.

    The Slim and the Voskhod were great as usual. No heat from the alum after my easy two pass shave. I didn't quite catch the baby tonight, but then, I was just looking for a high grade DFS, and that I got.

    Nothing in my stash of splashes quite matches smoky pine, so I went with some cheerful Florida Water to finish off a satisfying shave.

    Hi Clint..happy belated birthday by the way. I'm doubtful about going to see my sister today-snowy and windy out there. I'm sure it's the same where she is. I'll call her in a while to compare notes. At least we can have a nice Christmas chat. Merry Christmas to you and yours :).
