What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Tonight's shave was with a Japanese razor. I had a smooth 2 pass shave, with very minor touch-ups, that left be BBS. Zero issues. Just a very smooth shave.

Razor- Japanese "Coral 1070". For professional Barbers Use.
Brush- Omega Boar
Soap- Arko/Sandalwood Scented
Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice. The wife requested it.

 

Inspired by all the Filis appearing in the thread I decided to go with my Filarmonica 13, it is one the later production models, less popular but it does take a nice edge. There is one thing I hate about this razor, the cheap flimsy scales, they are too light, look terrible and always loose. I will send this razor out for some new shoes.

I used my Morley and Sons “Damascus” razor this morning. It was an enjoyable two pass shave.

Tonight's shave was with a nice big Sheffield blade. I had a smooth 2 pass shave, no touch-ups, that left me with a DFS. Zero issues, just a solid performing razor.

Razor- George Wostenholm & Son's. Celebrated IXL Razor. Washington Works, Sheffield.
Brush- Omega Boar
Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy.

 

My wife surprised me with a Gold Dollar straight Razor for Christmas. It’s the thought that counts. Anyway, I honed it up and got a pretty decent three pass shave with it this morning. The scales are cheap, but not flimsy and the blade took a nice edge.
