I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Frank Shaving Badger brush. I did two passes with the Micromatic Bullet Tip with a CVS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Nice easy shave tonight. Stayed with the New LC and Ladas. Went with T&H 1805 with the JR46. This soap has a great feel and is super slick. A bit touchy on the water but not hard to adjust right to perfection. The scent is nice as well. Truefitt & Hill has been in business since 1805. Something tells me their soaps should work.

Two passes and not much touchup tonight. Ended with a DFS and I'm a happy camper after a very relaxing day with my wife. Nothing special or fancy, just some quality time, a little Netflix, a treat of some ice cream from the convenience store on the corner after dinner and all's well. I have tomorrow off as well so no rush to get back into the rat race after the holidays. Hope you all had a great day and enjoyed your holiday! And, for those of you who shared all of your gifts with us........some great looking stuff out there.

And I have to include my daughter’s first shave with a DE. She has enjoyed using a soap and brush for a few years and has used a straight razor on occasion, so I got her a Gillette Slim for Christmas. Obviously not a birth year for her, but the date code (L) matches her first name - best I could do . She used it tonight and really enjoyed it.

Sweet Clint! How was the Peppermint Soap?

 

Thank you Mark. I really like the Peppermint cream. It has a strong peppermint scent with a cooling effect.

 

You guys are gonna hate me for this, especially in the Stirling Exchange because instead of going with the Glacial Lemon Chill trio I used something I haven't used in a LONG time. It was a GZD stick which is made in Turkey and it smells exactly like an Arko stick. Performance-wise, I must say it's pretty darned good - it lathers easily and its skincare is moisturizing as well as quite comfortable, but it not quite as good as what an Arko stick would give. I used a little Tabiano aftershave gel which I think is no longer in production - that stuff is VERY soothing and comfortable. The reason why I skipped my original shave plan is because of the bitterly-cold weather we're getting outside this week and the wife begged me to go easy on the menthol. I ended up with a great BBS shave and a couple of shpritzes of Acqua di Selva cologne left me smelling great!

Not a clone of modern AV... It clones the vintage formula, but it last 24 hours and scent is Intensified , and it's a cologne..I love sacre bleu!!! A must for AV fans

Route 66 Sweeney Todd today. 20 seconds to load the oscar11/TGN 2-Band Finest brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Gillette Platinum-Plus still in the Gillette Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Bulgari Man in Black EdT.
