That g-bar is a razor I could use every day. It’s smooth, efficient and comfortable. What a razor!

    L`Occitane Cade soap
    PAL Injecto-Matic de Luxe
    Schick Proline [ 2 ]
    Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion

Called by some the "Schick Buster" this neat Schick Looking PAL is rated by some as a rather harsh Shaver.
Pair it up with a Proline blade and it calms it down, yet it is smooth with great blade feel, and delivers a superb close all round shave with no fuss, and no after shave problems.Gives the bigger AC/SE razors a run for their money in terms of performance and finish.

Christmas Day I got new gear for Christmas. Mitchell's Wool Fat and a RazoRock Black Hawk V2. I now know why the Wool Fat is found in so many Dens in the wet shaving community. It really is a great soap that may take over Williams Wednesday and make it Wool Fat Wednesdays. There is always Menthol Williams Monday. The Black Hawk shaves great. After a two pass shave I got a DFS. The light weight of the aluminium may be the only draw back. I am now looking for an appropriate replacement handle with a little more weight.

The 1912 GEM Damaskeene is one of those razors that every wet shaver should have in their den. They don't necessarily have to have it in rotation, but should shave with it at least once. It was a Dammy that made me forsake all those other type razors and just use SE's.

    Proraso Pre Shave
    Williams
    Frank Shaving Badger
    Schick J Golden 500
    Personna
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Lucky Tiger

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Frank Shaving Badger brush. I did two passes with the Schick J Golden 500 with a Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I do find the handle of the 500 to be too long. I found myself holding the razor by the top half. I am thinking of maybe taking off two inches.

Agreed :) Did you buy the Sabre? I personally find the ROCNEL stunning - has a masculine and MEAN look to it... YMMV - I find the personna modern injector blades to feel like sand paper and always reached for the CHICK instead, the PROLINE feels samaurai sword sharp for me ... It is funny how everybody is different - My beard growth is not really thick - but enough I shave everyday - i would say I dont have a coarse beard - but getting more coarse as more greys are coming - 43 years young :)

I was lucky to get the Sabre on loan, just no good for me. The Supply is the only Razor in which the Personna blade works for me.
Just ordered 3 more packs of Schick Proline Type B from Japan, agent will deliver in the New Year, a really splendid service.

You're just not used to a longer handle. Give it some time before breaking out the hacksaw.

Try standing farther back from the blade end of the razor.

2nd shave today with a Schick B-20 Proline in a J type injector with good results.
Right now I'm putting it on par with the Chinese Schick but I need to give them several more runs and also try them in different razors.

I have to admit this setup of my beloved Mark Cross and a Schick Proline yields an even more enjoyable shave than my DE go-to, the Shake Sharp, easy two pass BBS head and face shave and especially superior on the chin where most set-ups cause me difficulty. The only issue is repeatability, as there's no easy way of getting blade gap just right without fiddling. This is right and man is it sweet.[IMG]

    Here is my shave tonight
    [IMG]
    Razor Gem OC Damaskeene
    Blade: Gem Carbon (4)
    Brush: JR 154
    Soap: Williams Luxury Shaving Tablet
    AS: British Stirling.

These PC Dammy’s are really smooth shavers. I still do not think they are as aggressive as the CC Dammy. But very smooth and efficient.

As is with all 1912 they are superb razors.

Vintage Williams. What can I say. I think if I had an endless supply, I would be happy only using this soap. As it is not it will be once a week, and an endless pursuit of vintage soap.

The British Stirling may be my favorite Drug Store AS. Especially since my wife approves.

We will have to have a Dammy Day every month. This was fun.

    Tom

Great OC Dammy shave tonight. This is a SE lovers razor. And I have found it is harder to find then a lather catcher. The homemade Williams stick did great with the horse brush. The video of this shave will be in the Williams thread.
