It’s a nice aftershave scent. My bottle is nearly empty so I’ll replace it. While I really like the scent it doesn’t seem to last very long.

 

I’m a step ahead. Got it (the Magic) last week and a pack of Derby blades. I’ll give it a go.

 

It reminds me of La Coste Pour Homme (red package)

 

Barbasol! Magic is an excellent choice.

 

I just use it liberally. Its cheap.

Sounds like your Yahk Soap Company is a good soapmaker trying to expand into a niche market without anyone from that niche to guide them. If you do visit them, as someone else said earlier, tell them you're a wetshaver and what you find wrong with their product. Better still, take a decent sized brush and some good tins along and SHOW them. They probably just need a bit of coaching to be first rate.

My last Latha sample today. Oceana has a light scent that I can just identify as "fresh". It's the next thing to an unscented soap for me.

In a hurry tonight so did one pass to a CCS, skipped the alum, and slapped on some Clubman VIBR for a warming pickmeup.

I doubt I will ever buy a tub of the Latha line -- it's good soap but nothing special over the dozens of soaps and creams I already have. It was nice to try them though. My next samples are from B+M's more premium line, the tallow Glissant. It will be interesting to see how they perform by comparison.

Never used the Gillette. I did a video with the Schick one. Actually a good shave.

That one has the red and white brush I bet. I have another set I need to get a pic of.. A Christmas gift set if I remember right.

It is vintage I think. Not sure when they stopped making it. 80's maybe? I picked this one up for under $20 shipped. I use my Burma Shave mug often. For coffee.

I am going to add a Magic to my Dovo, Parker and Lord shavette collection. Should be a great Month.

I've seen the mugs around, but not the pucks. How does the soap do?

 

Just for January, I've got one of these coming.



I looked at the Sally's here and they don't seem to carry much shaving supplies.

 

I like it. Shaved with it this morning. I keep a cake in rotation. I am sure I did a video with it but can not find it. I think it is as good as Colgate Mug soap. Most of the brushes I have seen look like a red and white Ever Ready.

This mornings set up. I keep the soap in a stainless bowl.

 

I'll have to find a puck sometime. I have a puck of Colgate, and I think I will line it up for some old school decadence today.
