    wchnu Duck Season!

    Yup. Nothing at all.

It is. I do not change for seasons.

How many shaves do you get from a blade Jim?

Your welcome. Keep up the Injector love.

The L is just a nothing fancy solid shaver. Great pic too.

That right there is one fine looking razor. Love the shave from mine.

That razor looks soooo good with that brush. The vintage Williams rounds it out nicely!

I have to tell you. The vintage Williams soap ROCKS.

I believe this is my favorite setup. I will run back into my burning house just to get these shave items.

I wonder if they did anything different with the luxury soap. Might just be a cool box.

Now today was not Menthol Monday nor was it Williams Wednesday. What it was though was the last day of 2017. As a nod to 2017 I decided to shave with all of my oldest shaving equipment. That is all except for the brush, I don't have any vintage brushes. I started off with a cake of Menthol Williams. Which I believe is the oldest soap I have. The last time I used it, the menthol was no longer noticeable so I had ordered some M Bomb from the TSD Shop. I placed about a half dozen drops on top of the cake before loading the brush. The lather was so menthol-y, it froze my face off. Even 15 minutes after the shave I was still numb. The oldest razor I believe I have is the Superior 1900. Unfortunately all of my vintage blades are off at the Doctors office so I paired the razor with a modern PAL blade. This pairing made a very smooth three pass shave. I was left with a frozen DFS. I finished off the shave with a splash from a bottle of Bay Rum by Arthur N. Christy & Co. This little gem I found at an antique shop when the Wife and I went on a trip out of town. The only thing I have found on or the company was advertisement from the company at the beginning of the 20 Century for door to door salesman. The aftershave is a very light Bay Rum. It is not clove heavy like some of the newer Bay Rums of today. The only problem is I have to make the bottle last the next 50 years.

I remember using Williams Menthol SS back in the eighties and it didn't have a lot of menthol face chill to it back then. I remember it being pretty mild. It lathered very nicely though. Happy New Year everyone.

May you all have a Good 2018

After a week of rather self indulgent shaves with Injectors, I moved over Vintage SE that require a bit more attention than Injectors during the Shave. Whilst the Shave was pretty smooth I have been rather spoilt
by recent Shaves with an E2 [Canadian].
Still it is good to make the change, as I felt the need to be more careful and concentrate on the Shave so as to avoid
mishap. I was quite pleased with the finished quality of the Shave, especially as I am not really certain of the age of the blade !

I have been working on the same blade since I got them back from @twhite , and I believe this is the 20th shave with the original Gem Jr. SE blade. I give it 25 strops on the linen and 25 on the leather before and after each shave.

New Years Eve last shave of the year
    Gem travel 1912/Gem ptfe (4)
    Semogue 1305
    Fine AB soap
    Victoria and Margaret AS toner
    La Toja balm

I had lent this little beauty to an acquaintance to try SE shaving about a year ago along with a 70s superspeed. I always ask when I give someone a kit that they give it back if they don't stick with it so I can give it to someone else. This has a curved cap and shaves a little more aggressively than a normal 1912 in my opinion. 2 pass DFS to ring in the New Year! Happy New Year!

perry! what I do is have one blank or "crap" blade loaded - than I use a tiny flat head screw driver to HOLD down the spring with the crap blade in it - than just slide the PROLINE GOLD inside - carefully as the samurai sword edge wont cut me -haha

Thanks, Jamie! The dispenser I have is empty, so I'll look for one with just one blade in it and try that. Thanks again!

Just start loading blades, you don't have to look for one with a blade in it. It's easy.

Just loaded three Proline blades into a Chick dispenser. I see now why having a blade already in there would be a big help since it enables you to slide the screwdriver or other key backwards as you load them in. In any case, they'll get a try tomorrow!

Question....can a Chick dispenser hold more than seven blades? They only ever comes loaded with seven but could it hold more?

Press against the spring and see how much travel it has, I would think it would hold 20. I can't say for sure though as I haven't tried it with a chick magazine

yes but when u have one in there it is easier to push down the spring, hence reducing chances of hacking the 1st blade..

I’m pretty sure the first blade that went in is pretty hacked up!
