I agree with Jason about the international shipping, so I suggest the same deal for me. Except you wouldn't want any handle I tried to turn, so if I fail, I will pay for a knot of your reasonable choice for Jason to install in his handle if he fails too or for you to pop in some other handle if he doesn't. "Reasonable" btw means excluding Shavemac "knot configurator" knots because those prices get insane.
    Okay?

And on topic, here's a recent limerick from the Limerick page that seems relevant:

I think I have an acquisition disorder
More soap and a nice brush will fulfill this order
Ten more dollars and I’ll get free shipping,
So some aftershave I'll slip in --
Does 25 bottles of it make me a hoarder?

Rick pretty much sums it up. I seem to relate a lot of my life to playing baseball. Somewhere around two years ago when I and several others on this thread were learning straights, I had the same issues you are having. I realized if I lathered my chin and mustache area I could shave it well without drying out. I thought of this as going up the middle, then my cheeks became left and right fields. By splitting things up, my shaves took just a bit longer, but my lather never dried out. I shaved with straights everyday for close to 6 months, and I used this for much of that time.

Nice write up, Neal. Glad it gave you something to do New Year's Day. It left you looking good for your Packyderms last night. Congratulations on your win. I'm a bit disappointed in my tigers, but they lost to a great team.

    January 2 SOTD:

    Razorock Plissoft Brush
Jeeves of Hudson St Bay Rum
    Classic Samurai Pain Stick
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Clubman VI Bay Rum

We'll, I went for the Pain Stick at the gym, and was rewarded with a little blood letting. I felt it happen, but I am not sure how. It was I the middle of a stroke, and usually I get my nicks on the start or end of a stroke. It was also in the middle of the blade, which is also a bit odd. Took a bit to get it stopped, but it wasnt really that bad. Luckily, the gym was empty as it is cold here and most people are smart enough to stay in a warm bed. Today is my son's 7th birthday, so we have a nice family celebration planned when I get home from work. I hope everyone has a great day!

Sadly the holiday weekend is over and I have to go back to work today. The big 30DC boar whipped up Jeff's Soap with no effort at all. This brush is getting better with each use. I am just short of the magic 30 uses with the brush. I decided to give my face a little break this morning and go with a 2 pass shave, XTG followed by ATG. After some minor touchups along the jawline I just missed the baby. I did get one weeper on my neck due to operator error. A splash of Folsom & Co. Capri and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Great classic barbershop shave this morning Seville followed by some Fine American Blend. The EJDE89 with a Feather were also involved.[IMG]

I saw Anne Murray in concert a few years ago. She did "Snowbird" just like the first year it came out.

Generous of you @NCoxSTL. I do think I need to get back to blade work again. A goal for 2019 has been set a year in advance!

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick Proline
    Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
    Lather: Stirling Scots Pine Sheep
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Ozark Mountain aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Some blade trials for this month started today with a new injector blade from Schick called Proline B20. There's lots of chatter about it over in the Injector and SE Party thread. You have to take the individual blades and load them into an injector container which I did yesterday afternoon. I then put one in the razor as normal. But the first few strokes were awful. Just awful. So I swapped out for another Proline and what a difference. Smooth and efficient with a strong and rigid blade feel. Really nice. I must have scraped the edge of that first blade when putting it in the container.

Great shave overall. I'm impressed with this first run of the Proline and look forward to more tries with it this month. I'll be throwing in some other blades as well. At least with injectors you only have a few choices of blades!

I'll be using some Jeeves soap the next couple of days. Going to be a great month!

Terrific offer, Neal! Don't count me in as I'm not officially in. I do want to reduce my den though and am trying to use stuff up and sell and trade some things to get down to a more manageable level. We'll see how that goes.....

Also, really like your avatar update!

Sorry about the cut, Jim. Happy birthday to your son!
