Williams Wednesday's Shave

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 Badger brush. I did two passes with the Gillette New Improved and an Astra SP blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

This morning’s shave was the first of a focus. Two passes for DFS+, but Realizing there are some subtle differences between my right and left sides. Not sure how close I want to follow complicated grain patterns, but that’s what this month is meant to decide.

 

Nothing beats a BBS shave.

I didn't realised the GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip behave very much like an R41, because I still didn't have very much stubble on my face after nearly two days of growth......WOW
I still wanted to shave so bad today, I didn't want to wait until tomorrow otherwise I'll get bored waiting to remove my bloody stubble off my face on the third day.

 

Tonight's shave was with an old Sheffield razor. I had a nice 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. Very big, and heavy wedge of a razor, that's a silent whisker whacker.

Prep: Hot water, b&bw lavender and sandalwood body oil massage
Soap: Proraso White
Razor: Yamada “Beauty “ 6/8
Brush: RR Monster
Post: Hot water rinse followed by cold water rinse.
Aftershave: Witch hazel/Nivea face creamtopped off with Nivea ASB

Nice hot lather thanks to artisan scuttle; thanks to the Monster I had a lot of it
The Japanese really know their cutlery. This one is half hollow and lazer sharp.

 

YESTERDAY'S SHAVE


Prep: Occams Crushed Lime

Very nice shave yesterday. Thick lather from the C&C soap, and the scent is a woodsy gentemans cologne. Finished off with Courage balm, the menthol in the balm made it a refreshing shave.

Received my order from Grooming Dept this afternoon and couldn't wait to try Wonderland. It is unlike anything I have come across scent wise, it is musky (anamalistic musk, not Jovan Musk) and I pick up the hay notes and perhaps either cedarwood or sandalwood because there is a earthy woodsy notes In the mix. Very nice scent. Performance is spectacular, one of the best soaps I have tried. Got a super smooth BBS shave,did get a touch of irritation on the neck which may be from the blade since I have still been experimenting with these blades. They seem to work better in the Wilkinson Sword razor. Was not sure if I was going to use a post shave, but went with Proraso Woods and Spice balm since the scents pair well with eachother. Hope everyone had a great shave!

 

First shave of the year and it was a delight! I loaded a fresh Feather in my late Grandfather's Knack. Cold water shave with MERS Barbershop and a Zenith badger. 3 pass BBS finished off with Lemon Thayers and Skin Bracer. Let it all dry and put some AV Sensitive 5 in 1.
