First shave of the year! Arko is truly one of my fave soaps for open blade shaving. And, no better match for it than the Veg.

    Have a great evening!
    :)

Prep: Hot water, b&bw lavender and sandalwood body oil massage
    Soap: Arko
    Razor: Wade & Butcher 5/8
    Brush: Semogue 1438 Boar
Post: Hot water rinse followed by cold water rinse.
Aftershave: Witch hazel/Nivea face cream topped off with Barbasol Brisk

Defiantly a budget minding shave. The soap and as cost pennies and are two of my faves:) The old Sheffield str8 is one Smooth shaver, which left me bbs and facurbating the fest of the evening;)

An excellent 2 pass shave with the Cobra and the GD Angel with Lamb Tallow was just magnificent. Perfectly creamy with a lather that was dense and yet light at the same time. Can’t explain it but it was just an absolutely awesome lather. Post shave was almost just as good as their Beef Tallow version, After The Fire. A superb finish, period. Have a great evening and shaves Gents.... :happy088:

As an interesting footnote, my aunt and my dad's brother were then and still are married. Thus, they remained married after the game :).

The first outing was excellent. There was a nice progression of scent from tub to lather.

    Shavettes and Jeeves January!

    January 3

Razor - 1918 Gillette Old Style
    Blades - [IMG] (1)
    Pre-Shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
Soap - Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Staying with the Jeeves Bay Rum to stay on theme but a special shave today. It's 2018. I happen to own a Gillette Old Type that dates to 1918 by its serial number. That means it's 100 years old and still shaving like a brand new razor. I thought I'd give it a day or maybe a few days to shine in the spotlight. It really is special to use a razor that's been around a century, and this particular one was in the military issue box, meaning it may have even gone to war for a short time back then. Maybe, maybe not, but it's still 100 years old, looks fantastic and is just as aggressive and effective as day one.

Paired with the Rapira Swede it was a smooth shave since I made sure to hold the angle by riding the cap. Two passes, no touch ups, it's a nice DFS shave and the alum is quiet enough to not be a bother at all. Considering how I've sometimes butchered myself with this razor it was a fantastic birthday shave for the razor. It will remain a special part of my collection.
