    Razor: English Flat Bottom Tech
    Blade: Dorco ST-301 (3)
    Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
    Soap: Der Vergulde Hand
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I'm beginning to think I may have a duff blade here. I moved the Dorco Platinum over to the English FB Tech and it is still not comfortable. Odd, but into the bin it goes. Overall, a CCS/DFS with no issues, just not as close as I'd like in some places.

I feel your pain. Perhaps literally. Chronic problems in the digestive system are horrible. Mine happens to center around what's left of my pancreas. Positive thoughts and lots of sympathy from me!

Go to the Family Dollar sto. Pick up a dollar pack of blades. These will be the Dorco STD-301...the standard blade. They shave great!! Last a good time and cheap as dirt.

Ahhh....well. Another day in the books. Ever had one of those days where it was like being the last dog in a sled team? Some days, my opinion is no one's business but my own. Decent two pass...calling it a day. Hero finish. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a fantastic Tuesday!

I know they do. While you were gone, I figured out that the problem I was having with them was that they are extremely thin and need a razor that clamps them well. A three-piece seems to work well whereas a TTO does not.

    Face Shave:
Post-shave: Hot Shower & Nivea Sensitive Face Wash
Brush: Omega Professional 49 Boar (not pictured)
Soap + Cream: Williams mug soap + Head Slick Mentholated Shave Cream
Razor: Magic by Master Barber shavette
    Blade: Derby
Post-shave: Dickinson's Original WH, Nivea Sensitive PS Balm, Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve AS Cologne

    Head Shave:
    Razor: Schick E-3
    Blade: Schick (1)

Yesterday, we went to Walmart and as I usually do I gravitated towards the shaving section to see if there's anything new. There usually isn't. I noticed that some of the Nivea products were on Clearance sale. The Nivea Men Sensitive Face Wash (but NOT the Post Shave Balm)... and the Nivea Hydrating products, i.e. the Shaving Gel, the Post Shave Balm and the Face Wash. I bit on the Sensitive Face Wash. They had two tubes left and I got them both. I have never used a "Face Wash" and I've thought about it so I took advantage of the sale and got them. So, today was the first day I used that Face Wash. It was nice. I liked it. I'm not ready to say it's awesome stuff, but I am going to try to remember to use it everyday this month and get a sense whether it worth buying and using.

Yes, I molested the Williams for today's shave (don't hate me Fuzzy). I whipped up a nice amount of lather with the Omega boar and transferred it to the Suribachi. I then added about a quarter sized amount to the bowl and mixed it up into a very nice, creamy lather. Since I was also doing a head shave today I wanted to make sure I had enough lather. This soap + cream combination has become a favorite of mine.

I waited a couple of days in order to have additional whisker growth to shave with the shavette. Yesterday I practiced a faux shave without a blade using my weak hand. I got to the point where I was comfortable using it going from N > S on the left side of the face, and even the neck, so I did that during the actual shave today. But I didn't risk going any other direction... not this time... not ready. I continued to use my dominant hand for most of it. I got a near BBS on my cheeks but as I mentioned the other day the cheeks are easy. My neck is not. I did a clean up pass on the neck with this razor and decided to move on.

I reached for the Schick injector and wondered how many uses I had on the blade in the razor. I had no idea. It's been a couple of months since I last used it, and so I figured I would give it a go. I opted to do a clean up pass on my neck with the Schick and it performed well. While I can't claim a BBS, it was definitely closer than with the shavette.

I then moved on to my scalp which had a week of growth and after lathering up I began to shave with the Schick. Immediately, I had a lot of tugging and pulling, and upon inspection it wasn't cutting all of the hair. I changed the blade, and the remainder of the shave was smooth and easy.

I'm not planning another shave until Saturday. Our college boys (a sophomore and freshman) are heading back to school tomorrow and the wife and I are hauling a bed for the eldest. The sophomore is moving into his Frat House... I'm okay with it (Well, pretty sure I'm okay with it), the wife not so much. Their Christmas break is coming to an end and the Spring Semester starts Monday. Just the Bride and I at home again.

Have a great evening and Friday everyone!

That is a wonderful photo, Doug. I have to ask... has your razor been replated? It's a beauty!

That is one cool-looking razor! It's hard to find anything that still works after 130 years!

    Good catch! :happy096:

Keith, be patient with that E2. Although I'm no Schick expert, I have an E3 which I just love. I think it is a very smooth shaver.
