That book inspires me when I am down, too. The Sermon on the mount and the upper chamber discourse are, IMHO, the most revolutionary, brave, loving, and profound words ever uttered on this planet. The discourse (most of Matt 10) especially, defines what it really means to believe in something and remain faithful. It changed my life, and made me want to try harder. When the words really sank in, I realized I wasn't as tough of guy as I pretend to be.
Because I like the discipline and organization, I follow a structured Read Through the Bible in a Year. It combines an OT and NT reading each day. Currently reading in Matthew. Yup, greater words were never written.
For people who might be interested in learning more about what we're discussing... Would you recommend a system or two? Personally, I tend to be a research or topical reader. All reading is good!
I also need the structure and discipline a reading plan provides. Last year and again this year, I'm following the M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan. In a year, you read the Old Testament once and the New Testament and the Psalms twice.
Many years ago in a land far far away I was walking the streets of Baltimore. I passed an eye glass place with the sign "Eyes examined while you wait." I guess some folk like to drop them off. A few blocks further up the hill was a Church with the sign "No Parking. Violators will be persecuted." My friend bought one of those JetSki water things. Near the exhaust was a warning label to not place bodily orifices near the exhaust while running. The new ladder I just bought also has a warning label on the top advising me to not stand above this level.
Love this stuff! Hard to lather, but useable as it is. Scent is not very complex and predictable. Great slip/glide though! Post shave is unmatched. A “bottom of the bag, waffle fry grease” AS would compliment this well.
Blue pill. You will feel better when you wake up believing whatever you want to believe. I once heard that reality is for people who can't handle drugs. Makes more sense every day I see more of this world.
