    Razor: D2 Gillette TV Special
    Blade: Dorco STD-301 (2)
    Brush: 30DC LE/Pure Badger
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

This was a bit of an experiment. I've been discussing the Dollar Store Dorco blades with @wchnu in another thread and was surprised by his success using them with an SA as I had never had a good experience using them in a TTO. The first time I ever touched one of those blades was in a 60's SuperSpeed and the experience was enough to put me off of them for a long time. It's only been fairly recently that I discovered that they work well for me in a three-piece razor. I couldn't quite bring myself to pull out the SA and I'd need to bring the 60's SS home from the office, so I decided to try the TV Special.

The result was... surprisingly good. I was working with two days of growth so, if there were any issues, I'd be aware of them. Instead, it performed as well as I would hope for in a Tech. A BBS or near enough with just a minor weeper on my chin (I think I hit the top of a pimple). Absolutely quiet Alum.

Now I'm really wondering what's going on...

Razor: Above The Tie Bamboo SE1
    Blade: Feather Professional (2)
Brush: 30 Day Crew LE with MS 2 Band
Soap: Jeeves Of Husdon Street Turkish Bath
    A/S: Lucky Tiger
    Bowl: Pottersong Bowl

Another excellent shave today with this setup. I really enjoy this razor. Going to buy some beer and try and make it through a game without buying any shaving related products. Last week I ended up buying a Sabre Base Plate L 2 from Blackland. :)

Thanks Dan! I appreciate the kinds words, and I'm feeling better today. Once I get my body clock readjusted, I should be OK. I went to bed at 3 pm yesterday and woke up at 11 pm! :happy097:

Thank you Dan. I do enjoy an evening shave for the no hurry attitude. Gives me time to enjoy making & applying lather, choosing a razor and effectively shaving, and some soothing post care products.

Thank you Jason! Though I'm back in the town of my birth here on the South Coast, I grew up in the Chicago 'Burbs. As my bones get older the creakiness is making jumping out of bed and going to work less of a joy. Once I figured out I'd rather sweat than shiver moving south made the most sense. Over the past ten days we've had some below freezing temps, but I think only one day that didn't get above freezing. As a kid I used to bundle up and spend a Saturday sledding or ice skating. Now I look forward to 80 degrees and 90% humidity.

Great trip. I was there in 1994 for three weeks and you saw quite a few more sites than I did. I only spent the final week on tour, though, as the first two weeks I was on the crew of an archaeology dig. I saw a lot of dirt and sweat for those two weeks. We did get the Saturday in the middle of those two weeks in Jerusalem, then toured Galilee for a week. I especially enjoyed the picture of the Garden of Gethsemane. I had a picture taken of me looking at the big olive tree just to the right in your picture kind of peeking in. Brought back good memories to see your view of that.

It sounds like you had an amazing experience, Neal, coupled with some hard and very satisfying work. We saw some very interesting archaeological digs on the trip. Those big olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane are quite impressive.

0F2E6612-7B5F-4C61-B081-8914CBF09EBF.jpeg First of all, thanks to tall of you who chimed in on my shave question of the day a couple of days ago. Took a day off of shaving to see if two days growth would make it easier to pick up on the subtleties of the whisker growth patterns. Nope. Two days growth basically just sticks up and is bristly from every direction. So I threw caution to the wind and went with a (mostly) ATG pass. One pass DFS, but a weeper or two and some irritation. I think @Linuxguile is spot on; the pass or passes prior to the ATG pass appear, in my case, only necessary to prepare for the ATG pass. It’s kind of like the approach shot that sets up the put, but the putt is where the money is.

Anyway, after reviewing many a fancy pants soap, I lathered up some Stirling pearberry and remembered why I love Stirling so much - great (and strong) scents, easy lather and super slick glide.

I also got to test drive my newly received Delta Echo custom Slim today. Love it!!!

Thanks, Doug. I’m really pleased with what Delta Echo did with it. I’m also still ticked that some “sticky fingered” postal worker ended up with my Fatboy that was originally sent to them. If anyone has a user grade Fatboy they want to sell on the cheap, PM me.

I'm trying to get use to this razor; just not feeling the love. It's a bit more aggressive than I'm accustom. I have an Easy Rider on its way, hope it's a bit more to my liking.
Preformed three passes: wow such fun ... not.
Results: DFS with only a couple weepers and a little irritation on my chin. Remedied with styptic pencil and shaving balm. :ashamed001:

Sometime you have to go back and relook at things. How long ago was it that you tried them first. I am glad they are treating you better.

Sounds like your E2 is like mine. It takes a really light touch. That razor is one of the very few that I really have to pay attention with. I am not sure what other Schicks you have tried, but if there is one you want to try let me know. I am happy to loan you a few.
