Congrats, Dan on terrific progress! I'm too chicken to even try the shavette, so you and all the others that use them have my respect. :smiley respect:

Congrats also on good Williams lather. My shave with it this morning was top notch.

John, sorry about the rough patch with your brother. Hopefully they figure it out and resolve the issue. Take care. Prayers, my friend.

Thank you, Perry. You're the one who actually inspired me to pull the Williams out today and try it without molesting it with something else. I've frequently used Williams by itself and had trouble with dissipating lather. Today, I found that if I had very little water on my face as I brushed lather on my skin, it painted on quite well in a thicker lather and did not disappear on me. Might have to do a 30 DC on the Williams. :)

Guys, my VP of Sales and right hand man for the last 20 years just got a phone call that his wife (a breast cancer survivor) may have Leukemia. His previous wife died of Pancreatic cancer, and the phone call today just about floored him. Having been through this before with him, I'm a bit in shock too. They are headed to Florida Hospital in Orlando for further testing tonight. His name is Bob and his wife's name is Kathy and they could both use your prayers.

Everybody talks about the cost of carts, I guess I am a little different. I used a Mach 3 cart for about three months. I shaved maybe twice a week. When it got dull, I pressed harder. I grew a beard like the one in my avatar every year from October-March. So I didn't actually spend that much on shaving, I just rocked the scruffy nerf hearder look. I started using soaps and brushes about a year before I really got into wetshaving, then used DE for about 8 months before jumping to straights. What got me into it was partly the cool factor of shaving with a straight. (Side note, I hadn't read anything about how to use a straight. Bought a "shave ready" spike tipped one from eBay, and figured I could figure it out. It didn't go as well as I hoped.) Cost wasn't as much as a factor for me as wanting to try it, and then realizing how much fun it was to use these silly things. I own over 100 razors now, almost 30 soaps, and I think 25 aftershaves. The biggest thing that has kept me into it is how much better the shaves are, and that I actually look forward to shaving now, enough that I haven't had a beard since 2012.

I would have jumped on that. Needs a little clean up and a hone. When will you be trying it?

You know, there are some weeks around here when I find myself wondering if I am a member of a shaving forum or if it's really a Prayer Circle...
