Great shave this morning and a great smell with Razorock xXx and Fine Platinum. I used the Razorock Bruce to make the lather and broke out the Schick injector adjustable. I really love that razor it’s been too long.

    Shavettes and Jeeves January!

January 11 - Head and Face Shave
Razors - CJB Greager Pain Stick/1918 Gillette Old Type
    Blades - kai-captain-titan-mild-bladessmall.jpg (1) rapira-platinum-lux.jpg (1)
Soap - Arko/Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
Brush - VDH Boar/Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

With my new schedule my head shaves are now on Thursday. Well, today's the day and it's still shavettes and Jeeves, so I'll do the only thing that makes sense. Use one on the head shave, the other on the face shave. And who wants to be boring and use a pain stick on their face? That's amateur level. The CBJ Greager is up for the head shave with Arko and the Kai mild blade, and I grabbed the 1918 OT and Rapira PL with Jeeves for the face.

I chose the mild blade for the Greager just because it provides that last layer of protection from slicing my head open. And, at one point, that came in handy. On the back of my head I didn't have enough pressure on the razor and it bounced and skipped. I felt two quick zingers but never had any blood. With a Pro blade or higher....that's a bleeder. Otherwise the had shave was near perfect.

The 1918 with Rapira PL and Jeeves was excellent. Two passes to a near-BBS and that brings the night's festivities to a close. Ahhhhhh the good life. It's been drizzling off and on and the temperature is well below freezing now. Hope MoDot got the message they have work to do before morning.

I made it back home and am going to bed for the last time in a home I’ve lived in for over 24 years. I raised my kids here and am feeling a little sentimental. Good night.

Happy Friday. What a week. It is always a hectic a the start of the year gearing up for tax season and so many compliance deadlines. On top of that my long suffering and on its last leg clothes dryer gave up the ghost in a smoking farewell. Thankfully it didn't start a house fire. So I need something to go right this morning and this shave delivered. The boar loaded and lathered the Jeff's Soap easily. Now that it is breaking in this brush is turning into a lather making machine and a "Soap Destroyer" in its own right. Three passes and touch ups had the baby in kissing distance which is good enough today. A splash of Fine L'Orange Noir and I am off to start what I hope will be a productive and uneventful day. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

It was a quick shave this morning, but pretty good. I would rate this as a DFS+. I did get a little aggressive with the angle, as I am noticing a little irritation after the shave. The Fat is quickly disappearing, which honestly there was a point where it thought it might be impossible.

One thing I have noticed about this brush is the lather really works it's way to the handle, much more so than my other synthetics. I know several guys use this brush, is this a common occurrence?

I hope everyone has a great day!

I am definitely looking forward to hearing how this new chapter unfolds for you and your bride. It is a blessing to have a home that has meant so much to you, and I am sure you will always remember it well. Congrats again on your move!

Thanks Clint. It's raining now and our temperature went up to 44F yesterday and last night. Winter storm moving in today. Rain, freezing rain, then snow. :shocked003:

Thanks, Clint! I am feeling more confident with it, but it demands a great deal of respect.

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Treet/PTFE
    Razor: GEM G-Bar
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Terrific shave as usual with this Friday setup. The Fat never lets me down. The Treet blade didn't feel right at the start of the shave. Rough and very tuggy. I switched it out for a PTFE to finish the shave with much better results. Not sure what happened with the Treet. I must have mistreeted it (see what did there??) when cleaning and storing after the last use.

Very nice overall. Enjoy your Friday!
