Hello there from Ohio! I've recently switched to wet shaving and have gotten my safety razor collection well on its way, ha ha! I currently use Vander Hagen-Weishi 9306, Merkur 34c, and am expecting a 1974 Gillette Super Speed in the mail in the next week off of the 'bay. I also found a nice-looking Wusthof straight razor that should also arrive in the next week or two.
High their. @Michael_W , from North Cackalacky. Sounds like you are going to fit right in. You will find us to be a friendly crowd.
Welcome @Michael_W! Glad you joined us here at TSD. This is your thread, feel free to ask questions. Lots of friendly helpful folks will be along to offer opinions, advice, even actual information.
Thanks! I was on another shave forum the name of which I won't mention. The users there are friendly enough, but the moderators seem to have sticks up a certain part of their anatomy. Apparently it's very easy to violate some obscure rule there and not even know it. I'm wondering how the terms of use here are enforced. I don't want to break any rules.
@Michael_W from Western NY, glad you decided to join us at TSD. I think most of have been to eggshell city; though I'm still a member there, I rarely visit. This is my new home for shaving and friendly conversation. Most any and all rules here are fairly straight forward and common sense. Enjoy your time here with us!
There are Rules. Mostly it's "be a Gentleman" and keep it Family Friendly. Discussion of Politics is generally off limits. No sexually explicit nudity in photos - be careful of Reflect-o-Porn. Colorful language may get "adjusted" with a tap on the shoulder to keep it clean. The Shave Den is a Privately Owned website and is supported by the owners store & donations. Not being supported by vendors means you won't get banned for disrespecting or disliking a product. This whole website is about the Technique of Shaving, rather than pushing advertising.
Thanks for the welcomes, guys! I'm considering an adjustable for my next razor acquisition, but am torn between a Merkur Progress, Parker variant, and Gillette. Any suggestions?
Hi from Seoul, nice to meet you. You already have the ultimate adjustable on the way, a straight razor. Why not pick up a second?
