  1. See, that’s really cool. I have a gnarly old Semogue that looks like someone shot a summertime weasel with a 20 gauge, then drove over it on wet pavement. I like that. Cause it’s an old school brush that looks old school from use. I’m not sure I want a higher end knot to get that kind of put away wet look, on me. I am happy you are the guinea pig on this brush.

  2. I know what you mean. You have to be that way when your not in an area use to it. That is also a reason I keep a bag I can live out of and shave out of for a few days in my vehicle all the time

  3. That is a full blown three unicorns shot! No filters on that? The brush blends right in. I love it!
  4. Actually, I think it is mildly so. For me it was an easy kick. I just started buying carbon and had to sell my SS to fund it. Kind of like I quit chewing Copenhagen and started smoking. Oh wait......

    Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog-Pruf
    Blade: GEM by Personna
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Listerine, WH

Another shave with a recently acquired razor: this time a Gem MMCP. I've been on a bit of a Dorco focus this month, but the Dorco SE blade is horrible, so I went with the Gem instead. Overall, a DFS with no issues and no irritation.

  10. You are correct..a Dorco SE will not scrape wet butter. The clog pruf is very under rated I think.

  11. Side note to Jared & Fuzzy, Steve less so - Marine68's Cigars thread was deleted at his request. There was a visual aid posted and appreciated by at least three members of TSD. I saved a copy.;)

  12. We should prolly not do that with new guys....... @PickledNorthern started it though......plus Cuban cigars are not that impressive....that red head though..............

Late post for this morning's shave. It was a good one: one pass plus a little clean up and I was DFS. I finished with a little Santalum Fumus, which is one of my wife's favorites. It's her birthday today, so I wanted to use something she likes. On another note, I have one more shave with The Fat. I never thought I would see the end of this one.

A lot of great pictures today. Great to see them all in review.

Nothing fancy, just good. I don't remember what I traded to Louis @dustmite, but this brush came my way. It was my second Vulfix and less floppy than the 660 Medium that got boxed up and sent to one of my sons. The sample of OS scented soap is Route 66 quality and nearly gone. I can see it being replaced with a full tub because it's right in there on the scent and a great soap. Futur Clone audio surprised me - I'd forgotten how loud this razor reports it's work. Regular 3 passes & used up the lather by squeezing the brush doing another pass and a half. No errors therefore skipped the alum. Splashed on the Shulton like I have a couple bottles stashed away. OK, three back up bottles. I quit looking, but I find them anyway. Good Stink!
    Good Shaves Y'all!
  18. Well sometimes "just ok" coffee is exactly what's needed. I'm no coffee snob, even though I've had my share of Starbucks. FWIW - I always preferred Seattle's Best, which, of course, is owned by Starbucks. I typically prefer local coffee shops like a few in the Lou that are really awesome.

    Shavettes and Jeeves January!

    Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette 195 Fatboy
    Blades - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - 30DC LE
    Post - Alum

A rather long and weary Sunday for some reason. Busy all day at work but made no real money. Just busy stuff. It's snowing a bit and cold again so, yeah. I decided to keep it easy tonight and just grab the fatboy again. Need a comfort soap. Tabac will do the trick. To me, Tabac and Mitchell's Wool Fat are like mashed potatoes and gravy. Familiar and reliable comfort to give you a great shave and after-feel with little hassle. The LE brush for the great and easy lather.

Two passes and touch ups with the Fatboy on 6 and it's a near BBS. I could have done one more pass and been there, but the baby isn't really the point. The point is I had a nice, relaxing shave and an end to a hectic day. The Zen of shaving my friends. Hope your week is off to a great start in the morning!

Our local place. One of those places with a hodgepodge of chairs and couches and great coffee roasted on site. Mmmm. Good stuff.
