That is a purdy razor.

 

I really dig the brush. As my collection grows, I find myself getting more and more interested in doing some restores.

 

If I wasn’t a night shaver, I doubt I would have kept at it.

 

I knew that one was coming.

 

I like that idea. I just stick to my strong hand. But there are a few spots..... I will ponder on this a bit.

 

Does that razor have different inserts for different blades?

 

It do. I tried the long Dovo blades...did not like them much. I prefer the half DE. I think they made one for another blade too.

After a day of shoveling snow and trying to keep from getting frost bite in +1F with -27F wind chill I ended the day with a hot shower and a nice, focused shave. I just used a small dab of the shave cream in the bowl and whipped into a lather with the Barburys brush... after a single pass all over my face, and some clean up on the neck I came away with a close, comfortable shave.

Okay, question two: (I read your response about commas) That is a Dovo shavette then? I thought it was one made for Barbasol, by someone.

 

This is exactly the helpful advice about which I always tell me wife.

That is what I get by posting when half asleep. Yes that is a Dovo. I have had it several years. Fun little shavette.

A perfectly serviceable shave, but my face was raw, and I didn’t push the cleanup too much. Got one foot into the DFS ballpark, and called it quits. We haven’t seen zero for a few days now, and the wind has been vicious, but it is supposed to break after tomorrow.

Well, Chris... I have to say that @Bama Samurai's Short-Haired German Pointers are a whole lot cuter than yours.

 

True, but his only point at birds. Mine points out beer halls with barmaids in low cut blouses.
