MWF never worked for me, I was recently gifted a puck of modern Williams and it works great for me.

    Thank you

I have wasted quite a few hours of my life playing on the Koraat configurator. You sure have a couple of beauts.

Good luck, Buddy. You know how celery is a food where you can actually burn more calories eating it contains? I just see Williams as the celery of shaving soap.

I give you a hard time, Fuzzy. I actually learned to drive a clutch when I was eight, (Farmall M) and started lathering with Williams (or Colgate, don’t honestly remember, I know there were both at various times) when I was twelve or thirteen, and did so until I left home for college. I shared my dad’s soap mug the whole time I was a kid.

I can lather modern Williams. I have even posted pictures of some nice shiny stuff. It is a perfectly fine soap if a guy wants a quick, no frills shave. I can even get a nice bowl of shiny super gloop if I want to put the time in. But it’s too much work to get it there, and it isn’t a particularly stable lather. I’m a four pass straight shaver, who likes to take my time with a nice bowl of lather. Even factoring in price, I just think there are better options (Arko for example) for my kinda shave.

    I’m not a Williams basher. I’m a Williams ribber.

Wooo. I was driving a IH 1256 about then. My favorite farmall is the A. There were a ton of M's running paddle wheels on catfish farms at one time too.

4 pass shaver eh? Veddy interestingggggggg. I accept the challenge. I have no idea what I will do the last 2 passes on a shavette shave but next video is a 4 pass Williams open blade shave.

    January 16 SOTD:

    PAA Atomic Rocket Brush
    MWF
    CJB Pain Stick
    Stirling Unscented PSB
Ogallala Bay Rum with Lime and Peppercorns

It's official, the Fat is gone. One last shave with it, so I had to make it good. I spent a little time getting the lather dialed in, and was rewarded with a nice, slick goop to work the Pain Stick. Two passes, and very near BBS. A very smooth shave. The Fat has been a great soap, and I will replace it at some point, but not for a while as I work my inventory down a bit.

It is going to be Snowmaggedon here today, as all the schools have been canceled on the idea it might snow. Right now, it is upper 30's and raining. The wind is blowing something fierce, but supposedly the temps are going to drop and the rain will keep going, so snow. Should be a fun afternoon on the way home. I hope everyone has a great day!

A very nice relaxing shave this morning. The Jeff's Soap is going down fast thanks to the big Thater boar. Three easy passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave this morning. I decided against buffing my lower right neck to catch the baby. A splash of Fine L'Orange Noir and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Leather and powder anyone? Broke out the Tabac today and paired it with some Stetson. Figured why not pull out the German razor to go with the German soap right.

Very nice picture, Jim! Congrats on finishing the MWF.

It’s always interesting how the weather affects different areas. It’s logical and understandable but interesting. To cancel school because it might snow wouldn’t happen here. It would have to be an impending blizzard. Likewise, we would do poorly in a hurricane situation but those who have to deal with them at least know how to prepare for them.

Right now it’s -9F outside. The wind chill is -22F. But it’s supposed to warm up to 30F later and some fools will consider that T-shirt and shorts weather.

Nice shave Clint. I’m cautious around the lower neck too, especially using the shavette.

Tabac and Stetson work well together. Good choice today!
