Williams Wednesday! Broke out a puck of Williams to go in the Old Spice mug. Paired it with it’s soulmate Aqua Velva for a nice cool finish on a snowy day. I used a Gillette Platinum for the first time and I like it. I lathered The Williams with the Satin tip Synthetic and it did a good job. I’m learning the secret to lathering Williams is don’t expect a fluffy lather like a lot of other soaps create, instead get a pasty lather that has a lot of slickness and protection. It seems like the fluffier I make it the more it Dissipates

I have three and would agree. The scents are the big selling point. I would put the Fine soaps ahead of B&M Latha, 1912 and Proraso soaps (not the cream) in performance and scent. My issue with Fine soaps is the white film residue they leave behind after each shave. Given that alone, I will likely not repurchase the soaps.

B&M Lavanille is certainly a love/hate scent. To date it is the only soap that I have tried that I was unable to use long enough to even finish one shave.

I managed to cut back on the Stirling Spice AS and what a difference. Course there's less fragrance now, but that burn was tough to handle. Repeat performance scheduled for tomorrow(Thurs).

Would you look at those split tips. Guess leaving in the refrigerator for a week works. :D

Have I mentioned how much I hate winter and cold weather. I live in Atlanta to avoid this messy white stuff. We won’t be out of the 20s until midday Thursday.

Wow! That looks like here. It’s pretty though. Do you have a snow shovel?

It’s supposed to warm up here.... nearly 50 today and mid-50s the rest of the week.

Good grief! You guys got a lot! It wasn't too bad here in Birmingham but looks pretty treacherous on the roads as you get down towards Montgomery. Won't get above freezing until Thursday as well.

I do have a snow shovel and have just finished shoveling the driveway. That way the sun can help clear the driveway. It doesn't help that my drive could double as a ski jump. We are supposed to get into the low 60s this weekend. Which should be nice.

There is an art to traveling. Looks like your in that group. Love the pic too.

Those other soaps add stuff to make that lather. It's not really needed. Williams is solid with out the flash. Glad it is working good for you.

    I shall indeed!

    January 17, 2018- Williams Wednesday

    Razor: Schick G8 Injector
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: Semogue 620
    Soap: Williams
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I'm taking a break from the Dorco Prime Platinum to spend a few days with SE razors. Sunday was the Gem MMCP; yesterday was the Schick J1 with a Proline B; and today is the Schick G8 with a Chick blade. Overall, a dolphin-smooth shave with no issues and no irritation.

Back on focus, minus the pain stick. New to me soap, check. New to me razor, check. Jeeves product, check.
2nd use of the Arko and can give a better impression of it than when I used it on Saturday. All I can remember on Saturday is that it lathered very easily and turns pink when a lot of blood is added to it. It lathered very easily again today. I know the scent has been described in unflattering terms, even ‘urinal cake-esque’. I would call it very soapy. Like a soap that claims to be unscented, but rather has a bit of a scent due to ingredients. Do I pick up a bit of citrus? Maybe.
Performance is ok, lather was ok and felt ok afterwards. You do get what you pay for I guess.
Next time I use this razor, it will be with a new blade, I think.
    Have a great day all!

Nice photo and setup, Jason! I need to use Arko sometime soon. Like you I find it to be okay. It's not great but gets the job done. The Jeeves splash is excellent and that brush is handsome.
