Yeah, I had to try though. Won’t happen again. I’ll use a brush next time.

    I like Mint tea!

Well, if you like mint you’d like this shave cream.

Yup new moon. By the time I saw it I think it was a driving range maybe.

Pinaud make a clubman brushless cream in a tub. Smells great but will not lather at all. I have used several brushless creams with a brush that worked really well.

The contractor finally worked evertthing out with the city and the floodplain issues, and got permits last week. We missed a planning meeting today due to a couple of sick kids and another trip to the ER. Finally have the girls starting to turn a corner, and both me and Mrs. Gulch are gettting sick, and one of the girls seems to have pinkeye. Anyways, once he breaks ground, it should be 6-8 weeks. If I was a betting man, I would say March or April though.

    Shavettes and Jeeves January!

    January 20 - Jeeves Samples Day 3

    Razor - Fatip Piccollo
    Blades - rapira-platinum-lux.jpg (2)
Soap - Jeeves of Hudson Street Abyss
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Final day trying out the Jeeves Abyss and it's back to the Fatip and Rapira PL combination. I used the JR46 brush and got the same high quality lather I've come to expect from Jeeves. The scent is still quite nice, subtle yet definitely there. Two passes, touch ups, BBS, nothing better than that. The Rapira PL shows its relation to the mighty Voskhod in its smoothness and effectiveness. Always a pleasure.

I've come to like this soap and my wife enjoys the scent as well when I use it. I have never tried a rose soap before and I like this one. Subtle as I've said, and quite nice overall. This might be one I'd add to my cabinet.

Next up as we work through Jeeves January - my sample of Private Study. Have a great Sunday!

    Sunday, partial focus:

Today's blade is a Brian Brown, two shaves into a Gokuymo 20k finished edged. I don't have another BB to compare to stones with so it is just a shave. The edge was fantastic, very smooth and very sharp. Just tingle from the alum left me short of epic.

My mini focus of finishing off some near empty soap tubs is progressing. This R66 is getting close to the end, it should be done next week.

    Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

    Razor: Brian Brown 7/8 (G20)
    Stop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: Thäter silver tip
    Pre: Nivea
    Soap: R66
AS: Razorock XXX AS, Speick ASB
    Scent: Houbigant Fogère Royal

Plenty of time, plenty of product, a super sharp edge, and I ended up with one of those shaves that is the reason we all do this. As close to perfect as I ever get them. Have a great Sunday.

The zebra patterned Thäter looks fantastic. I don't recall seeing one of their brushes with a handle like yours. As always the Mastor Livi looks like a piece of functional art.

Great lineup Jared. With that brush you'll make short work of the Port au Prince.

Great bay rum lineup Mark. Since my Captain's Choice Bay Rum aftershave is just about gone, I ordered some Krampert's last night. Next time I will try to get some Small Batch Tonic.

My first shave with this blade. The ruskies did it again, Neal! Thanks for your generosity.

A very relaxing shave this morning was a great way to start the day. Nuàvia is up for its regular Sunday rotation and as expected was easy to lather. The scent really added to the experience. Three passes followed by minimal touch ups left me just short of a BBS. This is more than good enough for today. After snow and ice earlier in the week, Atlanta will be in the mid 60s with sunshine. This is too good to miss so, I will be going for a motorcycle ride later today. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
