Hi Friends,

today i had my Shave of the Day with 2 new items. My Coconut Bowl to whip up the lather and a Bay Rum Aftershave. The Aftershave has a bay leaf in the bottle. Maybe you get it on the pic. So, here is my shave:


Razor: 1960 Gillette Fat Boy / Blade: ASCO / Soap: Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica whipped up in my Coconut Bowl / Brush: PAV Brushworks Goldcoast / Aftershave: PinselMan´s Bay Rum

Fantastic shave!!! The Fat Boy and the blade are a great pairing. Smooth and gentle. The Felce Aromatica whipped up very well in the bowl. It´s a special feeling, to whip up lather in a bowl, which has been a real Coconut someday. Caribbean feelings... So, last but not least, the Aftershave. Great scent and fantastic skin care. Not a "typical" Bay Rum scent, something "fresh" in there, maybe the oranges in it. Wow!!! I´m done for now. Flashed!!!

I agree, although there is significant pitting, too. It would take quite a bit of sanding. It's not something I'm experience with, so if I do anything with it, it will be to send to someone who knows what they're doing. Most likely Nate Singleterry (DrivenLegend). It's just a shame the artisan didn't do it himself. I'm also surprised he was willing to let something like that leave his shop. His bio says:

Maybe his wooden handles are better quality and his acrylic work hasn't yet been refined.

I just took one for the team.

Broke out the Fatip Grande after a month's hiatus. New Personna red blade. Whipped up some creamy, slick lather in no time. Another 2 pass, minor touch-up, DFS+ shave this morning. Topped it off with a face loving splash of HBG Bay Rum. Now.......where did I leave the remote?

Lavender - Schick Lady Type L with a Purple handle - pretty rare - I never seen this other than the one I have - once again the Proline blade was marvelous with the mild Type L..

Coate’s Sandalwood Cream today. 10 seconds to load the Maggard Synthetic brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Gillette “7 O’Clock Blue” Super Platinum still in the Maggard V2 Open Comb. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Pino Silvestre Oud Absolute EdT.
