I do like it more as I use it. I splashed a little on before I left this morning, and my wife's opinion of it is still good, so this is a keeper.
A very nice ride through the North GA mountains. Really very little traffic. I was pleasantly surprised to find very little gravel on the roads given the recent snow and ice. Today was just the sort of day I needed for my mental health. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
1.21.2018 Pre-shave: Hot shower & Nivea Men Sensitive Face Wash Brush: RazoRock synthetic Cream: Godrej Shaving Cream (courtesy of @SharptoothC) Razor: Gillette Tech Blade: Feather (6 or 7 maybe) Post-shave: Dickinson's Original WH, Nivea Men Sensitive PS Balm, Aqua Velva Musk AS Cologne I wasn't going to shave today, but seeing some of the great photos today, I succumbed to peer pressure.... i.e., the shaving addiction enabling. I gave the shavette a day off just because I wanted to use something else, so I picked up the Tech. I can't remember for sure how many uses I've gotten from this Feather but it's still giving me a smooth shave so I'll keep it for yet another future shave. This was my first time using the Godrej cream. I had never used it before. Actually, I had never heard of it before. Chris @SharptoothC sent me a stick of Arko last week, and unbeknownst to me he included a tube of this shaving cream. It lathers well and has a pleasant scent. Thanks, Chris! I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. I'll be watching the NFL playoffs today.
Enjoying my gear Focus Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum - molested 30 DC LE Cashmere Cypress brush Suribachi bowl & cool water Schick Type J-1, Chick blade M&L Florida Water AS I confess - I molested my Jeeves. Several vintage soaps have gotten a splash of AS during lathering to make up for lack of scent. While this generous gift from Adam @Drygulch has alerted me to the great properties of the soap, I'm just not a big fan of nearly every Bay Rum scented product I've encountered. While not clove heavy, there's just something about the bay. Now finishing with Florida Water has made for a pleasant shave, so I poured a teaspoon of cologne on the soap mushed into my tub. Didn't stop the soap from giving it's rich dense lather, and it subtly changed the scent into good stink! The Limited Edition brush by Jason @jtspartan loaded easily and an easy no worries shave happened with this Schick passed to me by Chris @Bama Samurai. DFS was had and followed by a splash of the FW cologne in hopes of encouraging Spring to get here soon. Good Shaves Y'all!
I'm so bummed I missed out on the 30 DC brushes. They are gorgeous. All of them. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Glad you enjoyed it, Dan. I get it at my local Indian grocer quite cheap and I use it often for travel shaves. I find it pleasant as well. I had amassed a bit of a backlog and I like to add extra goodies when I can. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I'm not a Spread Sheet shaver. I did try keeping count of shaves with each blade using dice, but I tend to keep several razors out for easy flibbertigibbet grabbing style rotation. Now I just evaluate the blade as I shave. Tuggy? Fresh blade time. Can't say I have a fetish for any particular brand, with the exception of Feather Hi-Stainless blades. They give acceptable service in any DE for me.
Spousal approval means everything. Hopefully your wife isn’t as Bi-polar as mine when it comes to scent. I swear to God, one day I’ll wear something and it will be like a mating ritual out of Wild Kingdom, and the next time she tells me I smell like raw gasoline. I have a whole back row (NOT kidding) of stuff she likes occasionally. Or dislikes occasionally. You pick.
Thanks, Keith. Me too! Thank you, Clint. We are really Loki g forward to having more space. Thanks, Mark. Just got back from urgent care, and have the meds to take care of the pink eye and ear infection in the big one. I hope this is over soon.
Jeez Adam, I just said a quick prayer for your little ones that you heal up from this quickly. It is such a hard time when they get sick while they are little. Best thoughts for all of you, and I will say another for you tonight.
You send any sparks from your floorboards today? Looks like a mostly leisurely ride, but I see you were playing a little bit.
My wife has done that on occasion. The first time I wore L'Orange Noir, she loved it. It was her favorite scent, and this was all unsolicited responses. One of the next few times, I get the look and eventually she asks me what I am wearing, because it doesn't smell good.
No sparks today. I was going along at a nice pace. Generally about 10 mph over. It was a nice leisurely ride since the roads were not crowded.
Beautiful razor. Bay Rum sounds like just the ticket with the crazy swings in weather. Wonderful photo and lineup Dan. Wonderful lineup. Reactions to the different scents are certainly YMMV.
