Thank you, Jason. I used to be a daily SR shaver, but I was never willing to take one to the gym, so I picked up my DE again. Now I just get up to early most mornings, so I am back to safety razor shaving most days. This month has shown me the appeal of the shavettes again.

I don't think the lead will last. I had some early motivation to finish up, but I am getting tired of using the same soaps over and over. I will finish up the Port-au-Prince and then switch things up a bit. I will need to find more motivation as I need to reduce my inventory.

The 1924 shovel head borders on being too aggressive for me. If you can keep it on the cap and remember no pressure it can deliver a great shave, but if your technique waivers at all it can be a bit harsh. Luckily today my technique was spot on. 3 passes and one smooth BBS finish! The big old badger brush took a big bite out of my remaining sample of Mountain man and I can now see the bottom of the tin showing through in several places. Have a great day me friends!

    SharptoothC I bite..........

At my current rate I won't catch up. I need my variety, and the CRSW is holding on stubbornly. It seemed to go quickly during the first half of the tub, but now that the bottom is showing through, it seems to be replenishing itself.

I understand. I have been pretty good at sticking with the every other shave method. The tub I am trying to use up now is Van Yulay for the 2016 Kansas City Meet up. When I first weighed it in December of 2016, it was at 3.8 oz. When I bumped it to the every other shave soap in December 2017, it was at 3.2 oz. Most soaps I use up between .1 and .2 oz per shave. (I use a lot of soap. It isn't waste, because I paid for it and like to make enough soap to wash a car with. Makes the scent fill the whole room.) I was at 1.8 oz before my Monday shave, and I left it open to dry for the day, and weighed it again on Monday night. 1.8 oz again. It seems to take forever to get through the end of the tub. Once there is a ring of death, there suddenly seems to be 30 shaves left.

The challenge is on! In all seriousness I'm glad for some motivation to finish some soaps as I have way too many. I'll hopefully add to my total throughout the year.

I have about 30 or 35 pucks, shave sticks, and creams that are open and in use. There are some on TSD with tons more than that! Soap is pretty easy to procure and you can find great deals on BST sites. I've PIFed and sold a lot of soaps as well. But then I'll buy more. Oh well. My goal is to hold off on buying soap for as long as I can and get some used up.
