I am sure he has dribbled in too much water too. My point is that everyone is looking for a gimmick. Why? No need in it. Most people are going to shave over a basin of water right? It's a simple task making lather. No gimmicks needed. Just ask any chunky redhead......just saying.

I never fill the sink at home, because I hate washing all the whisker floaters and soap out of the sink. I just rinse. Or wipe a straight. Or both. I probably shave 100 to 150 times a year in motel rooms, and don’t fill the sink there, cause I am trying to cut back on the hepatitis. So if I do soak a brush it’s in a mug. I even keep a Marvy mug in my suitcase.

The dribble is only a gimmick if you are a sink filler.

Thanks. Most weeks I am in a hotel for a week at a time, so I can pack a little variety, or break out a boar or badger.

Hotels and cruise ships I use a mug or cup. Still just dip the tips. Shaving under running water is weird. But weird is ok too you know.

It has been said before, and I agree, that a solid shave on the road like that can make things a whole lot better!!

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: GEM G-Bar
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
Lather: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
Post: Witch hazel, TSD Iced Barber Shoppe aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Solid shave this morning with Jeeves Bay Rum. Terrific soap with some incredible lather. The G-Bar continues to be exceed my expectations. Smooth and comfortable all around.

Getting an early start today. Going on a field trip with another group that leaves early this morning. Best thing is that I'm not in charge of this one! I can sit back and take orders from the sponsor instead of me making every decision. That's pretty nice for a change!

    Have a great day!

Sounds like a great road to ride. My dream is still to get out to NM and AZ for a bike trip. I will certainly reach out to you for suggestions before I go.

Great travel lineup Jared. Shave sticks works so well for travel. You can have several for variety on the road.

I really enjoy the way your shaves are inspired by the thread.

You are off to a great start. I would suggest practicing lathering. Load the soap on the brush and then make the lather in your palm. That will allow you to feel the slickness of the lather as you add more water. Many of us do not use a bowl or mug but just load our brush and make the lather on our face.

So far as I know, I'm the only one to save my popcicle razor and use it for two years in a row. This July will be 3.

Notice the use of Sweeney Todd. It's the only appropriate soap for the job, although there was no blood on either occasion.

Great lineup. I find boar brushes harder to use with shave sticks than either synthetic or badger brushes.

This time of year is hectic for me at work with all the compliance deadlines coming one after the next. As such, I do enjoy a quick relaxing shave even more. The big boar continues to break in nicely and improve with each use. The Fine Platinum was easy to load and lather with the scent adding to the shave. Three passes and touch ups ended with the baby just escaping. A splash of Fine Platinum AS and I think I am ready for the day. My goal is to move a few of these items across the finish line today. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Yeah, that might be the hardest I have thrown down the gauntlet for a new member. I almost felt bad. But @9nein9 seems ready to roll with it, so no harm done.

    Thanks guys!

The MAYhem prizes should be better this year, as my den rejects have gotten a bit “higher end” and I’ve been saving them up instead of PIFing or selling them. Not that I’m encouraging anyone to do stupid human tricks with a razor or anything:kar:

Wow so much to catch up on in a day! This morning I broke out Smolder soap and AS. To continue with the reaper theme I paired it with my black Bakelite slant and the black satin brush. Good shave great scent.
