    Shavettes and Jeeves January!

    January 24

    Razor - Magic Shavette
    Blades - [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Stirling Iced Coffee
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum, Styptic

Only a week to go in January and I haven't used the Magic shavette yet. So, here it is! This was a gift from the Yakuza along with a pack of Derby blades for it and I've used it before with success. Let's give it a few days before we end the month.

I got a Stirling two band synthetic brush in the mail today. It was one of the "seconds" from their website due to a scratched logo. Nice discount on it and honestly, the "scratched logo" is nearly invisible. Looks like a good brush to me. And, it lathered the Iced Coffee soap perfectly. I love this soap more every time I use it. Not only the scent but the consistency of the lather. It has a bit of a mocha tint to it as well and as creamy as it is along with the scent it's almost tempting to try a spoonful. But, logic prevailed. It's soap, not creamy ice cream stuff. But oh baby.

The shavette definitely provides a great shave. The Derby blade is very effective and I thought I was on the road to the perfect shave. However, my weak left hand decided to lose it just a bit and I managed to dig the tip in for about a 1/4" cut on my left cheek. Bled nicely through the shave and finally stopped with alum and styptic. It barely stung when it happened but was a nice bleeder. Hey, shavettes carry a bit of risk, but the DFS shave I got after two passes was definitely worth it. Looking forward to a repeat tomorrow night. Without blood on steel.

Superb shave today. This scent is among my all time favorites, and the white label B&M still outperforms many other soaps. The Vision was close and comfortable again as I get to know it better. No weepers or irritation at all.

It's a great shaver. Handle is huge and the balance is close to being spot on with a bit more weight towards the handle, imo. But once you get it right, it's a pure joy to shave with.... :happy088:

    01/24/2018 - Last Night's Shave.

    A EUROPEAN Williams Wednesday

    * The Cream did not seem to have much menthol at all, I used about a teaspoon worth of it - and gave me enough for 3 passes plus pickups..
    * Loaded a 1974 Schick Plus Platinum Blade into my Schick Type L and I will say it again the Blades from this era are AMAZING! The Proline is nice but it still is not as sharp as these disco era blades.
    * European Aqua Velva Aftershave (spanish) is flat out awesome. The bottle and the bakelite Cap are pure vintage Glory - the scent is softer and more "complex" than it's american brother - I got 2 bottles of this, just in case it gets changed. This Euro Aqua Velva is a must, cheapest USA sellers are Phoenix Artisan Accouterments and Small Flower for 15 bucks, I am sure its way cheaper in Spain but hey its imported and i can say its worth paying the extra money for us Yankees.

    Peace, Jamie B.

I had such a nice face-freezing BBS shave with the Frozen Tundra soap and a monstrous freeze from the Snake Bite aftershave splash. Because of the soap's slickness my Super Speed was able to skate across my face and knock off that tough stubble so easily. Two passes were all that were needed to get the job done!

    Enjoy your day, folks!

Strangely enough I find the Williams Menthol cream to be quite cooling - not as much as the Palmolive Menthol, but still cooling enough!
