YEs! I love 13th floor. Also starring Keefer Sutherland, the concept of the movie is excellent and is another Matrix type movie that doesn't get the credit it deserves.
6 string Samauri- it's a Mad Max style movie in a apocalyptic desert wateland. The main character is a Buddy Holly look alike that carries a guitar. Low budget movie but worth checking out if you can find it. Radar Men From The Moon- a old B&W 12 part film. Very cheesy and low budget, has some sweet cover art that has that 50's sci-fi feel.
If you have children under 12, an unappreciated movie from the early 1980's (1982?) was called Earthbound. Yes, from an adult standpoint, it's really cheesy, but I remember it fondly from growing up, and not many movies made after the 1950's get that from me. The main characters are aliens that are stuck here due to their ship crashing, and they're trying to hide among society while keeping the government away from their crashed ship (in a lake, as I recall). One of the biggest recurring laugh moments is that their pet is a green monkey - who likes to eat tungsten.
Another great movie from my childhood, though the ending is pretty messed up. One that I love that you don’t hear much about anymore is, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
"Don't touch it, it's evil!" Robin Williams as King of the Moon. Definitely a good movie. In many ways, it was a Monty Python movie, as I believe it had all of the members. (maybe not Graham Chapman. Can't remember)
I watched it as well thought the ending was very anticlimactic and depressing. That said the ending of Brazil is kind of a bummer. I really liked the end of Time Bandits.
here's a few obscure ones. Dance of the Damned- 80's low budget canadian movie about a vamp who only feeds on the suicidal and has kidnapped a stripper for his latest meal, not on dvd.later poorly remade by Roger Corman . Eyes of Fire-low budget supernatural thriller set on the american frontier of the early 1700's.It's about a preacher and his followers who are ran out of town and set out into the wilderness and end up in a cursed valley.Atmospheric creepiness..Can be found on the bay.For some reason all the dvd's available are from thailand...go figure. Party Animal-an 80's t&a comedy that is wildly uneven ,some parts are very funny and witty and some sequences that are just stupid. It's about a hick at college who attempts to create an aphrodisiac. With a series of disastrous results. I'll pop back in and post a few more later.
Directed by Terry Gilliam, the only American member of Monty Python. He is the creator of the Python illustrations. Great flick!
