I skipped shaving today but did catch up on my reading: A rare photo of a nearly empty tub. I like that shave bowl. Is it stone, pottery or something else? Great crisp photo today, Jason. I like the mahogany in that brush. Wonderful looking lather on that brush! Nice photo of some great shave gear. The Jeeves bay rum isn't "traditional". With the orange and other scents in it but I certainly like it.
Chris @Bama Samurai, I have a question about the Arko Challenge: you said that on Day 158 you "quit" the stick. Is that "quit" as in it was completely used up, "quit" as in there's still a bit left but it's down to a scrap too small to handle easily (without a roach clip), or "quit" as in you finally just tired of it but there's still a week or two worth left?
January 28, 2018 Wolfman SS OC with 0.61mm blade gap Feather Thater Beehive White Boar Nuàvia Rossa Feeling a little worse for the wear after a late night last night. We were invited to a surprise Birthday party for our neighbor. The party as at a local Indian Restaurant so I did not anticipate or plan for the sheer amount of adult beverages that would be consumed. I am too old for those types of nights and should know better. I still have a busy day ahead of me so a hot shower and a good shave did help. The big Thater Boar is really making a dent in the Rossa while whipping up a rich slick lather. I even picked up the scent through my foggy brain. Three passes and touch ups along my jawline left me with a very good shave. I am off shortly to visit my mother for the day. I hope everyone as a great Sunday.
We all have our fancy shave names to apply to certain days of the week. I'm proud to announce that I will call Tuesdays "Tribute Tuesday", and use the Maxwell '23 A.S. on that day until it runs out. Course I could also call it '23 Tuesday('Twenty-three Tuesday???).
Beautiful picture, Clint! A good breakfast always helped me in the past. Enjoy your day with your mom.
At Indian restaurants, water suffices for me as beverage. Got to handle that tough hot food(But it's tasty).
January 28 SOTD: PAA Atomic Rocket Brush Stirling Port-au-Prince SS CJB Pain Stick Stirling Unscented PSB The Veg One pass, CCS. Not much else to say. Great lather again from the Port-au-Prince and some Veg to top it off. I hope everyone has a great Sunday!
Thanks, that is a pottery bowl. I was made by a friend, and my wife got it for me for our 9th wedding amaversary. This bowl is about 3 and 1/2 inches wide, and flat on the out side bottom. No handle, but perfect to hold in your hand. (It’s also where I squash samples that I am going to use, and I just cleared the Jeeves from it.
So, then, a stick of Arko lasts 158 days. Two sticks and just the start of another will last a year. That makes a 12 pack good for somewhere between 5 and 6 years of shaves.
