Thank you Jim. I took my Mom out for brunch so I’m much better now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This morning was my third day on a feather. They are plenty sharp, but not as smooth as some of my other blades, and can cause some mild irritation to my skin. I’m falling into Neal’s camp of gravitating towards the Russian Steel. Besides once you get used to the borscht and potato soup in the gulag, it can be quite satisfying (at least when compared with the gruel anyway).
MiniFocus - BL BB option #2 Mystic Water Raspberry Lemon B-400 WD High Mountain badger Suribachi & warm water Blackbird 101mm handle, guard bar Astra Superior Platinum blade Pinaud Citrus Musk AS Went to the other end of the options with the borrowed Blackland BB. Longer handle and other baseplate feels substantial in the hand. Started the process of evaluation with one of those really good soaps - MW has top notch residual slickness, though I didn't get the goopy wet lather I'd prefer. I'm not yet up on my badger loading skill set so I don't blame the soap. A light souse and a second go at the puck did bring the lather sufficient to get 'er done. Swapping in the heavier handle but expecting more weight I guess I adjusted my grip. Great audio from the razor/blade combo - I could hear each individual hair cutting on WTG 1st pass. ATG less noise, but smooth. G-Slides and XTG ear-to-nose left little to clean up. Between the properties of the soap and the function of the razor I'm clean shaved with zero irritation. Splashed on Pinaud's C/M EDC for a comfortable finish. Good Shaves Y'all!
Great photo. People like it better since I quit drinking. Haha Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
I think the BB audio feel back is exceptional. Can't go wrong with an Astra as they are super smooth. Looking forward to your feedback with a Feather loaded up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
I will make it a point to try a Feather in the BB. Sure it's a sharp blade, most all are. They do well in a FB, Red Tip, Fatip, etc. Can't see why I wouldn't enjoy one in this razor, too!
Thank you. It’s a rare occasion when I drink more than a few. It doesn’t take too many now for my head to pay the price. I’m too old to let the “young” Clint out often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gruel is never the preferred option in the finer gulags. As far as your gravitation toward Russian Steel -
