    Stirling Badger Brush
    Stirling Rose SS
    Gem Junior Bar
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Stirling Rose AS

This is a favorite razor, and it provided some great results. 2 passes and DFS. This soap is a nice rose scent, and while not my wife's favorites, she did like it. A nice start to this month. I hope everyone has a great day!

Another great filter effect, Jim. Looks like a very nice razor too and that inspires me: I have an early Kampfe or Star lathercatcher somewhere in my collection boxes and I will dig it out for SE Sunday this weekend. Now I just need to decide what I am going to use today...

    SOTD February 1, 2018

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna
    Razor: Schick M adjustable
    Brush: Zenith B02 boar
    Lather: Soap Commander Vision
Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Smooth and comfortable, easy and enjoyable. Soap Commander is terrific lather and I'm enjoying this new RazoRock scent. The Zenith boar worked great again and everything came together quite well.

Fun February, Fave February, etc. Several themes going on. I'm going to use my favorites and have fun enjoying the shaves. Have a great day!

Timeless OC 0.95mm with Triad Ti handle
    Feather
    Thäter 4125/3
    Fine Platinum

The Timeless OC is one of my favorite DE razors primarily because it is an exceptional shaver. I find it to be very efficient while being smooth enough for a daily shaver. Plus the thing just looks great. Fine Platinum is one of my favorite scents so what better way to kick off the month than pairing the two. The big Thäter loaded easily and whipped up a mountain of rich slick lather. I am amazed that a knot this dense has such great flow through. I went with a traditional 3 pass shave this morning. This allowed me to get reacquainted with the Timeless OC. After touch ups along my neck and jawline I ended up with a super smooth BBS. Several weepers did cause me to miss epic status. A splash of Fine Platinum and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Thank you, John! These old lather catchers are great razors. After a month using the shavettes, I was a bit amazed at how quickly I could use this razor this morning.

Haha. I just clicked on your den link. I'm gonna have to dock you a few points for lack of a Toggle....and not a single Stirling soap?

The brush collection is impressive. I've not gotten into expensive brushes. I've yet to understand the need and my wife is glad. I figure if my $30 Stirling badger can whip up a mean lather, what does the extra $170 buy me?

I traded @RyX for a handle. I'm thinking I'll order an Elite manchurian badger knot to set in it. Just to try.

The Toggle certainly wins on coolness alone. Honestly I just don't like Gillette TTO razors. I buy them, try them and then they are gone. I kept two from my birth year but that's it. I have finished one tub of Stirling soap, Sandalwood and Vanilla. I placed another order with my buddy Wade and ended up giving them all away because of the scent. While the performance and value are there, I prefer Mystic Water and Mike's for their scent selection.

Brushes are my true shaving vice. I used a brush and soap since I was a teenager and started with a cartridge razor. Then when I got into DE shaving in 2014 and discovered a world of brushes I never knew about, I was hooked. For me the most enjoyable part of the shave is the face lathering. One day I can have a brush with tons of backbone and scrub and the next I can have a pillow soft experience. That's what makes this hobby so nice, we can focus on what brings us the most joy.
