February is about watching SR vids, skin stretching and angle. You got this easy if you focus. If not, you probably get a legendary CT and a great story. Win either way!;)

It's a pleasure. You're welcome and stay focused. I assume you read post one. Shavettes are unnecessary and dangerous in this day and age, and no one can deny that. Let's do it right.

I watched one vid today and something told me I have to try it . I can still see my Dad shaving with one of these back in the 70s. It is an art in its own right.

I will do it right. I'm a real stickler to details . I want to master this skill safely and effectively.

This is great. You'll skip DE RAD, be busy for three months. Then you can literally pick up any straight in the world and figure it out in a stroke or three. You can do it. SR RAD is where it's at, if you're gonna be a collector. And the flipside, You'll always be able to use a DE, and you'll be better at that by default when you try. Real Straights actually have a greater margin of error than shavette. Ask @PickledNorthern. He learned this way. He can shave with anything that's sharp now. Mostly real Straights when he can, but a lot of Parker SRX though...

I'm enjoying the DE , it has taught me to get the feel for the blade on my skin and the importance of blade angle to skin contact. I just think that the SR will be just as enjoyable with some practice and patience.

And it's very important to keep developing that touch behind a safety guard for this month. Really stretch and glide. Feel that singular sweep of the bevel. It's essential in open blade shaving. For now, try to ride the cap just barely, and let the bevel gently wipe the lather of your face. No more "shaving." All bevel control, all the time. Like the tires on a road. As little contact as possible to get the task done.

Do it on the 30DC. The community is gonna show you. It's an amazing thing. I don't collect razors. My efforts are focused around the skills. You'll read, try, and come back with a brief report and any questions or issues. We'll all comment, I'll be doing Luxor at the same time. You'll read again, and decide what advice is for you. Then you'll try the next day, come back with new questions. Rinse repeat. It's what we do.

    We love it.

We all know how long learning open blade shaving takes and how tedious and stressful it can be. No worries.

I can see why yous love it . All the help I received on here really advanced my skills with DE quickly. Clear explanations go a long way as much as practice does . I'm happy to be in on this . Thanks again for the opportunity

I have been using my Great Grandpa’s DublDuck razor since I inherited it April 2016 :). Receiving that razor was what started my journey into wetshaving and TSD :). I have been using DE and Injectors as well.

Will you agree to be the veteran March Madness starter?

The offer includes the Leopard (or equivalent new shavette) and some blades. You'll need scissors. I use this design (2arm, open corners) shavette daily. Your razor is a spike, you understand the peril of corners.

Yeah, I had to learn the art of getting my ear lobes out of the way quick fast and in a hurry haha. Didn’t even know I cut my earlobe until I got some of my lather on it ⚔️ sorry for the premature send, my SWMBO’d arm touched my phone and hit the reply button
