anyone notice a big difference between these or is it down to packaging?

Oh absolutely big difference, here is my take:

    1. Yellows: they start off very sharp and also very smooth, but by the 4th shave I'm already thinking of dumping the blade.

    2. Blacks: they start off very smooth less sharp than the yellows but they degrade slower and last up to 6 shaves.

    3. Nacet: these are the less smooth of all 3 but are the sharpest and creeping the Feather/Kai area in sharpness, last up to 6 shaves with 5 shaves consistent in sharpness, could probably drag up to 8 shaves but the last 2 will feel a bit of tugging here and there.

How do I know this? I bought all 3 kinds in 100 pack and enjoy all 3 of them. Before I tried the Kai's blades I always had the GSB, Yellows, Green SS, Blacks, Nacet as an overall best blades out there, yes Gillette is still the top dog when it comes to producing quality DE blades, but then the Kai's came out that are actually sharper than the Feathers by a small margin and yet I could load the blade in the Fatip Grande, R41, Futur on #6 and shave without concentrating too much because of how smooth the blade is, it almost brakes the laws of physics, they also last for 8-12 shaves depending on the blade..... Sadly the price is the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on 100 blades as of yet, if they ever reach the $25 mark I would no questions asked but as of now they run for $40 100 pack

I found the Yellow to be smooth, the Black just a little harsh, and haven't used Nacent enough to have an opinion. Don't recall which razors I used though it may have been a Fat Boy on a high setting. It's entirely possible I was Sport Shaving - trying out an unfamiliar razor - that gave me a less than positive feeling about the Blacks.

How would you characterize your skin & beard, and which razor do you favor?

I’ve used all three and the blacks are easily my favorite.
And yet, there’s a good number of folks who put the yellows at the top.
I get decent shaves from the Nacets but again, some folks think they’re one of the best on the market.

Your face will tell you what works best for you.

I have never tried the Nacet blades, but I do like the Gillette black and yellow blades.

I found the yellow to be sharper than the black. However, I do find the black to be smoother. I can easily get five shaves from both the yellow and black blades. I could use more of them in my den, but I’m on a ‘no buy’ 2018.

Nacets chop alligators in half. Not sure what else anyone needs to know.

to those interested regarding the Nacets, they are very sharp but don't expect great but normal smoothness from them, great sharp blades none the less. Although if I had to go for the Russian Gillettes and get the best sharpness and smoothness then it would of be the 7 o'clock Green Super Stainless

It’s interesting how subjective blade preference can be. I findNacets the smoothest, then yellows, then blacks.

Are the yellows stainless? IIRC the blacks are platinum, and the Nacents are stainless.

Actually, I don’t use much in the way of DE blades anymore, but Nacets are pretty much my favorite, tied right up there with Polsilver SI’s.

I liked the Blacks quite a lot, even bought them in bulk, but found them to be less smooth than Nacets. I never used the yellows more than maybe a sampler tuck.
