Late post tonight but started with the artisan part of this weeks showdown with Seville and Fine American Blend. What a great scent these two products give, I love this barbershop scent. Using the Razorock Bruce to build the lather and my Edwin Jager DE89 with a Feather to do the shaving. Nice 3 pass shave bbs no irritation amazing post shave feel.

    Thank you, Jim!

Thank you, Clint... on both counts!

    I appreciate that. Thank you!

Thank you, Jason! I think mom was ready for me to leave her alone. ;)

I really like the GEMs... but I really like my Schicks and DEs too. If I knew how to maintain and handle a SR I'd probably like those equally well. I can't commit to just one class of razors. Is there such a thing as a "razor slut?"

Adam, you and your family have had a tough time with illness the last few weeks. Sorry to hear it's still not over. I pray you all feel better soon.

It takes about 12-18 before most guys drift to their main style. Others are major collectors who change all the time.

Wander around Schick/SE world for a while. The razors are cheap, and the shaves are very good.

Ummm....I like many razors as well, but I don't think I've ever referred to myself by that particular term.
Be careful, CTs have been given by this crew for far less...:scared003:

So many razors and other shaving products and so little time to use them. :angry017:

    Razor - Gem MMOC
Blade - [IMG] ASR Carbon - CVS (2)
    Soap - Stirling Gatlinburg
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Ok boys and girls we're cooking with gas now. Second shave on the CVS carbon blade and I'm having fun again. Soap tonight was Stirling Gatlinburg, which I have a sample of. This was my second time with this soap and it's a keeper. You'll see a green tub of this one in my cabinet in the not too distant future. I have two other samples I'm still working through. Ben Franklin and Electric Sheep. One of those is probably not a keeper, the other is. I'll get to those in the next couple of shaves.

I took my time and did a full three pass shave tonight, focusing on holding the OCMM by the end of the handle and letting the razor do its thing without any extra help (read pressure) from me. Very comfortable and effective passes. I had a very high end DFS after the second pass and decided to try to find the baby, hence the third pass. That and I was enjoying the lather too much. The third pass was enough to give the alum something to complain about on my neck and I still missed the baby. Overkill on my part but hey, it was fun.

I feel like I'll have control of this razor in a rather short time. Once I feel at home with it I'll change off of Stirling and do the week of Williams I owe Fuzzy.

Super Sunday spent waiting all American classics. Simple enough. Faves, as it were.

Menthol Monday is one of my faves.

Busy Monday...just catching up. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a terrific Tuesday!

    SharptoothC I bite..........

So I gave the Burma Shave set a go tonight. The brush was new in the box and was a bit on the stiff side. I soaked it for a few minutes before starting to lather the Burma Shave soap (also new) in the mug. The soap has almost no discernable scent and it lathered with a little work. The bad news is that the brush has a good bit of scent and it is intensified by warm water. My other boar brushes have had very little funk. This one smelled like Cheerios left in a hot car mixed with mangy pig butt. It was so bad I could hardly get through lathering. The lather was not overly protective and dissipated pretty quickly. I got through two passes and gave up on the setup with a CCS. I then lathered up one of my strongly scented Wild West Shaving soaps with my 30DC brush, left it on my face a few minutes to cover up the funk, and finished up with much better shave. The slickness and cushion from the WWS soap was a night and day difference. I know what cushion means now.[IMG]

Glad to hear your mom is better.

Popsicle stick, that's nothing. One person who shall remain nameless didn't have any popsicle sticks so just fastened a blad to a twig. Not wanting to be out done two people who shall remain nameless decided a twig was too easy and taped blades to their fingers. Another nameless person just held blade between his fingers. Alas there was no blood :duel:

It took a lot of work so it didn't look like shive. :happy102:

It’s too bad you didn’t enjoy that shave, cause the brush only has four more before all the bristles fall out.
