I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Old Spice Musk Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the JR #258 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the 1947 Gillette Aristocrat Razor using a Polsilver Super Iridium blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

This was the series in a blade trial. I used the GEM blade, and while there was some noticeable tugging, as opposed to my CVS blade, the over all result was a bbs after the 3rd pass. The Williams did not want to cooperate at first, but we whipped it into shape quickly, and the protection that followed was good. Had one weeper, however after that, nothing major, and the irration wasnt bad at all.

Another Fat Boy February shave. New Astra SP blade, Stirling Black Cherry (love it), Captain's Choice bowl, SOC boar, Nivea Post Shave Balm and a splash of Cella. All is right with the world.

A rare shave today. I normally only shave every other day and sometimes every third day. Tonight was a special dinner with my wife for her birthday so the whiskers came off after just a day. I picked up my 1970s Russian for the job. Easy peasey. Two passes and done. Oh, and a special shout out for that Savile Row brush. I have some very, very nice brushes but this one has really been standing out and today was no exception.

Just a great shave comparing the 2 razors. More efficiency and blade feel with the GC but still buttery smooth as the Mamba. Though the Mamba is milder, it’s no slouch. It cut the whiskers well with just a bit more buffing and clean up required. In the end, BBS all the way. Have a great evening and shaves Gents... ​

Fourth shave on the blade and it's performing like a champ. It's showing some discoloration now but still no rust that I can detect. And nothing on the edge. I am removing it from the razor and drying it every night so I'm sure that's helping. My impressions of the blade - very smooth, more than some would expect a carbon to be. Sharp enough to get the job done well and easily but not so sharp that it wants to bite like the stainless.

Electric Sheep for the soap. Lemon, Citronella and Eucalyptus mixed together for a very unusual scent with the mutton tallow base. Slick as any soap I've used and it might do better as a morning soap since the scent will wake you up. I figure using it will help me when I do my week with Williams. Already used to that scent profile.

Two passes and a bit of touch up for the very nice DFS with mostly quiet alum. Success!

Early start this morning for a Long Day at work.. Today's brush was bought many years ago when Mr Sabini regularly sold his prototypes on Ebay. I have no idea which grade of hair was used (can't remember)......but it was beautifully soft!
