1. I just won a Ming Shih DE razor in a PIF. (Thanks @Zykris !) It looks just like the Merkur Futur. I like it very much ,but the handle is kind of slippery. For someone who shaves in the shower ,this is an issue. I don't want to (and probably can't) change the handle. So I would welcome some suggestions on how to make it less slippery. Thanks.

  2. I used some of the white medical tape wrapped on the handle. Doesn't look terrific but worked great. Gave a great grip regardless how wet the razor

  4. Try dipping it in Flex-seal or Plasti Dip. You can get them in hardware stores.
  5. I find soapy hands are more of a problem than wet hands, but that's a little off topic (who? me?). Go low tech... get a thick rubber band and wrap the handle in it. Easy to remove and no permanent or messy change to the handle.

Or... duck tape... but then you have to deal with sticky residue if you ever remove it.

  6. Plasti dip, gaffer tape, tiny dots of hot melt glue (if you're a crafty person, it's probably the easiest to do)

If you want to do a rubber band, don't use one - get a half a dozen of the tiny bands that they use(d) for braces, and put them randomly around, or make a wide band where your fingers hit.

You can also try wrapping it in cord - either a natural cord that dries (jute, hemp, leather), or one that doesn't care about the water (nylon, propylene). That way you can practice your macrame, and give it a hanging loop! :)
  7. Great suggestions. I never had trouble with grip then again, I was never in the shower with it. Glad you like it though!

  8. Cold water shaving in the shower would upset even a penguin.

  12. Shrink wrap tubing will work great and will keep the shape of the handle.

  14. Heat shrink tubing is generally purchasable from any electronics supply store.

edit - harbor freight carries it. maybe even Home Depot and lowes.

You can even order it in colours from online. Get a size about 20% or so larger than your handle, slide it over, and use a blow dryer to shrink it into place.

  15. What @Bookworm said, pretty cheap. They come in different sizes and colors. Just make sure it fits the handle.
