    Proraso Pre Shave
    Old Spice Musk
    JR #258 Synthetic
    47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Polsilver Super Iridium
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Musk

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Old Spice Musk Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the JR #258 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the 1947 Gillette Aristocrat Razor using a Polsilver Super Iridium blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I got and used some today. It's good with a shavette because it's slick and doesn't lather too richly. The scent reminds me of Nivea ASB unscented. Great recommendation! Thanks!

Do you hone your own blades? I have a Wilkinson Sword seven day set but have not ever used it.

I mentioned across the street that some people say grating helps the lather. I say grate away.

Used the Lord plastic disposible shavette today. New blade snapped in but did not feel as smooth as it usually is. DFS with one weeper down very low on my neck. The VDH boar worked good with the Williams and the Boots AS finished it all up.

Yes, but I haven't honed a Wilkie 7 day blade yet. I have many NOS Wilkie Empire blades, but haven't honed any.

    Razor - Gem MMOC
Blade - [IMG] ASR Carbon - CVS (5)
    Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Fifth shave on the blade and I think that's going to do it. It's starting to lose just a little of its effectiveness even though it's still basically as smooth as it was on the first day. Just the slightest hint of roughness, if any, but the two passes and touch up only got me to a low-end DFS. Perfectly fine for a shave while on two days off, but I can tell that I need to switch out for tomorrow.

Great lather with the Stirling brush and soap and the alum was quiet tonight. Either I finally got the touch right or the blade is just not able to cause irritation anymore. Either way, I'll take it.

My better half and I will be heading out late tomorrow morning for an early Valentine's Day trip. Going to drive over to the lake in Illinois where we got married and just kind of hang out and maybe check out a few shops. Having a nice dinner tomorrow night at a great steakhouse and winery. Should be a fun day. Hope you have a great Friday and roll into your weekend on a high note!
