These River Valley Trading soaps are threatening to push the OSP soaps down to third place - this Green Fields has a peppermint scent that's to die for and so much rich, slick lather with a NICE cooling effect - in fact it's more cooling than I was expecting. Mohamed, tell that soap-maker he's got another jewel!!!! The skincare is so good that I didn't really need the Nip Man balm afterwards, but I used it anyway. That balm is so cooling and soothing with a great scent. This shave turned out BBS in two passes and I enjoyed it so much!

    Have a nice Saturday!

Thank you Marine. I have been paring down my razor collection significantly, but the Fat Boy's not going anywhere.

    Saturday

Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep
    Soap: Van Yulay Oh, Baby!
    Razor: Gillette Fat Boy
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (Shave #3)
Brush: Wild West Brushworks/Elite Razor Manchurian White-24mmx54mm
    Aftershave: Stirling Agar w/Menthol

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Van Yulay Oh, Baby! today. 20 seconds to load the Wild West/Elite Manchurian White brush. Easy, thick, slick, but “slimy” lather. Perma-Sharp Super in the Fat Boy. Smooth, close, but “slimy” shave. I finished with Stirling Agar aftershave.

Changed up a bit this morning. I'm still pleasantly surprised by the performance of this "budget" cream. Whips up a plentiful, slick lather in no time. The lavender scent is very subdued. Not overpowering at all. A very easy 2 pass, minor touch-up, BBS shave. Seventh shave on the Nacet blade. Still trying to figure out how to describe the scent of the Brandy Spice AS. When first applied I get a strong alcohol burst. Kind of like if you held up to your nose a freshly poured JD on the rocks. Right now, about an hour after applying, I'm getting more of a citrus, slight floral scent. Very nice finish.

    Cream: Derby Lavender
    Brush: Omega S10065
    Bowl: Dollar Tree salsa
    Razor: Fatip Grande
    Blade: Nacet (7)
    Aftershave: Clubman Reserve Brandy Spice

First ever straight only shave today - convinced myself I didn't need a third DE pass.

2 passes - one WTG, one XTG. It's not a great shave - looks good, would probably call it SAS, but you can feel a serious prickle under my chin where I always go ATG with a DE. Couldn't do that with the straight yet.

Segal Unitary Razor (1933). I used both a well stropped Segal blade and a trimmed Supermax Platinum, both of which did well. Precisely trimming the modern blade is a little tricky but you can tweak alignment on the bottom plate before tightening if you need to.[IMG]
