Very nice shave this morning. No reaction from the alum or superior 70 tells me I did a good job.

    Enjoy your day

Another rainy dreary messy day here today. I truly enjoy the scent of Rossa and it seemed to brighten up the morning. I mixed things up and went with 2 XTG passes followed by an ATG pass. With touch ups I ended up with a very good shave. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Can’t be much soap left in there. That DO1 outta chew it up like a Garden Weasel.

That brush catches my eye every time a photo shows up. It's the right shape & the black/white rings are very striking. Good thing it's an LE or I'd be misappropriating funds and shopping for one.

Thank you Jared. The photo was taken and edited on my iPhone 7+. I had to remove the remaining soap and put it in a small plastic container. I didn't want to beat up my brushes. My guess is 4 or 5 more shaves and this one will be gone.

    Super Speed Sunday

Today’s shave was brought to me by the following:
    Razor: Gillette Super Speed
    Brush: Simpson Duke 3
    Soap: Geo Trumper Almond
    Blade: Feather
    Bowl: WCS
    AS: Old Spice

I wasn’t sure what soap I wanted to use today, when I noticed a few sample containers. I had one shave left in the Trumper (maybe two, if I were a soap miser). The Duke whipped up a nice super goop lather and I went to work. Lately I’ve been doing mostly two passes w/ a little touch up. Today the third pass was for greed, and because I had plenty of lather for the extra pass and the back of my neck. As a result, my greed got me two small weepers. Oh well...not my first ones, won’t be my last. They quit immediately with a splash of cold water. Oddly enough, no sting from the Old Spice. It was a nice, relaxing shave.

The Trumper’s is nice stuff. Having said that, I’m not going to immediately order a full tub. The almond scent is very mild in comparison to Cella, which may be preferable to some. I’d say the performance is similar, but I’ll give the edge to Cella - probably because Cella is tallow based, and it comes in at half the price.

Try the VDH Luxury scented soap if you can. It has the same qualities as the Deluxe plus a very nice scent. I’m not a scent guru so I can’t describe it for you, but I can tell you it’s a great scent.

I agree with Bruce that they go well together. The Classic Vanilla is a very masculine scent. My wife loves it, as do I.

My Marvy shedded a dozen or so hairs this time. I hadn’t used it for a couple of months so it was dried out. I don’t know if that makes a difference. It’s nothing fancy but it is functional and gets the job done.

The inexpensive brush I have that truly impresses me is a Barburys synthetic I bought at Sally’s for about $7. I have used this thing a lot since I got it in November. It’s soft yet has backbone... and I have not seen it shed a single bristle.

Wow this thread moves. I feel like Brian @mrchick , I’m stuck in airport with a 2 hour delay for a red eye flight :angry032:. I’m in Cebu heading back to Seoul, the WiFi is so slow here no way I can catch up on this thread.

The last three days I used a synthetic brush, Arko and a Parker SRX.

First Day with the Tech earlier this morning. I’ll spend a week or so with it for ‘favourites february’. This simple, humble razor doesn’t get pulled out enough. I was inspired by Chris’s new Palmolive thread and pulled out my favourite shave stick. The antique shave stick holder in the photo came via the generosity of Fuzzy @wchnu . Hopefully this mention will buy me a few more Shavette Fu’s without comment...
I hadn’t shaved since Friday and went for a full 3 pass shave with a jawline touchup. I am smooth and probably won’t shave tomorrow as it is a long weekend here in BC.
    Have a great day all!
