This morning a second shave with the RR Old Type - DOC. Like most coated blades without Feather printed on them I expect the Tian Li is a bit sharper second round, and this was a great close shave. Just one pass plus cleanups head, two passes beard. It's a light razor combination but a pleasure to use. Soap is My Father's Face #3.

Having a water softener installed Tuesday. Had one for 23 years in our previous home.
My MWF and other "difficult to lather" soaps will be happy.
Not to mention my water pipes, shower door, etc. etc.
FYI, I live in the city with the hardest water in the nation.

Menthol Monday's Shave

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the JR #259 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gillette President Razor using a Polsilver Super Iridium blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thanks Primo. First time pulling out Bill the Barber and I have used 1/3rd of the Signature AS so far and have barely put a dent in the Signature soap so far. Also have a Signature in reserve., these soaps last a long, long time. Also had WSO GIT but the soap had no scent to it and traded that away even though he knew lack of scent but kept the GIT as scent was medium strength.

Hi Friends,

today i had a shave with an old friend, which i´ve not used for a very long time. My Fatip Piccolo...my friend from Bella Italia.


Razor: Fatip Piccolo / Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra / Soap: Saponificio Varesino Stella Alpina / Brush: Omega 11126 / Aftershave: Cold River Soap Works Puro Fresco ASB

Great shave. The Piccolo seemed not to be the best choice for my reference blade...Gillette Bleue Extra. Or is was my technique. Nevertheless it was a fine shave. Careful strokes, the Piccolo wanted to have my full attention. I think it´s a little diva...he definetly has a soul and wanted to tell me, that i should use him and his "big" brother (Fatip Grande) more often.

Ok i thought...i will do it. You and your big brother will be used regularly now.

Today's shave was supposed to be a video BUT my iPhone fell off the mirror where I taped it and ended up in the sink. No lasting damage thank goodness. The bowl came from a vendor on ETSY and the Soap from Poland - I can hook you up with both vendors if you want to get some too. The soap is harder than a croap and softer than a soap so I don't really know what to call it. Anyway I bloomed before lathering and it worked just fine.

 

Todays shave was with an old "Rescue Razor", made in St Louis. I had a glass smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Excellent shaving razor, and made very well.
