I’m glad! I think it was originally formulated or made popular by a film star in the late 60’s, I can’t remember who. It reminds me a little of the veg.

It’d be cool to know, I just can’t pull it up, but I read something about whomever it was; they were like a George Clooney of their time I think.

Would have to be a cool cat. Spencer Tracy would have been a good choice.

AliExpress so, yes, a Chinese seller.

It doesn't help that Baili is worse than Dorco for using creative model numbers. The razor I received is a BT171; according to bailishaver.com, the style of razor it came with is a BR131 "Primary double edge razor". What I thought I was ordering, according to both @Bookworm and bailishaer.com is a BR171 "Victor safety razor". Just to confuse things more, the packagings for both razors use the "Victor"/"Victory" designation.

I think I agree with your assessment. I suspect this is a case of BT171 vs. BT171new.

Keith, how does the Rocnel compare to other modern razors either Gem or Artist Club in terms of efficiency and aggressiveness?

Since the Platinum soap has only 3 or so shaves left, I will stick with it the rest of the week. Between the Wild West Brushworks 30mm Tuxedo and the CH2 Synthetic, I have a pair of brushes guaranteed to destroy most any soap. The "Soap Destroyer" whipped up a rich slick lather. While I really enjoy the scent of the soap, I don't care for the white filmy residue it leaves on my razors. Three passes and touch ups ended with a near perfect shave. A splash of Platinum aftershave and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

    February 13 SOTD:

    Razor: Razorock Hawk V2
    Blade: Kai Titan Mild
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: Arko Cool
    Aftershave: Stetson Cooling Moisture
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

My first shave with this razor and my first with a modern SE razor. I got a DFS on two passes, and this razor feels pretty smooth. I got the electric blue color, which I am not sure I am crazy about, but the razor itself is pretty, certainly worth the money. It was a nice shave to get me moving this Tuesday morning. I hope everyone has a great day!

If you despise citronella, it isn't for you. I love the stuff. Not only do I like the scent, the slickness is over the top wonderful. Jared @PickledNorthern turned me onto that one. Maybe he'll be along to preach the gospel of The Sheep to you. He lives for the stuff!

Happens to the best of us. Tomorrow is another day for a great shave! :)

I'd venture that most of us have done that. Heck, I've done it with carts!

Very nice photo of the gear!
