Only the second outing for this brush and I wanted to see how it would cope with a harder soap.
No issues, made a lovely face lather with a little bit of scritch, held onto and released enough lather for a second pass, and no tangles.
    Happy Shaving!

After 3 shaves this baby is a keeper. It will be moved into my rotation (Sunday). Initially I was concerned because I could really feel the blade, but the end result was a very near BBBs and no irritation - I mean none. Same result after each shave (different blade) and each shave seems to get better. Also I have mastered modifying the blade. Initially I tried to cut slow and steady but have since realized that a quicker cutting process (bigger bite) is faster and much easier with better results. I also really like the feel and balance.

I concur with that assessment. After almost 2 years I have been unable to tame my BD. I loves the looks and feel but it's generally a rough outing despite using numerious blades. I stiil use a few times a year but have to reaaly go slow and careful. I get a close shave but do get some irritation. She's a beauty but also a brute.

Just made this good-lookin' guy more good-lookin' - here's how:

    Two hot towels
    Omega 49
    Mingi Shi TTO/new 7 AM
    Solo Menthol SC
    Tabiano AS Gel
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Splash

Now this boy looks like a stud! ;)

I'm surprised that Dad enjoyed the Solo Menthol cream. Mind you, it's not so cooling but the lather is great. Its scent is so mild but pleasant and I noticed that his face was not only BBS, it also seemed well-moisturized. He really enjoyed the massage I gave him with the Tabiano gel and when I patted on the Aqua Velva he uttered a mild obscenity in Russian and laughed! Lollllll

What a guy he is - I love him!

It’s odd, my face bbs smooth but I can feel a constant scratch feeling. It feels like someone lightly ran their finger nails across my face.. lol I felt very little stinging with the aftershave and I don’t feel any irritation really

The Pearl OC has some QC problems with its top cap so some of us have used the SABI cap as an excellent swap. Here the Yaqi cap proves useful as an alternative.. Cooper handle again for perfect balance.[IMG]

Good 2 pass straight shave today - first was WTG everywhere, then 2nd was XTG on cheeks and sides of neck, and against the grain straight up under my chin, as I just can't get it any closer than an acceptable shave otherwise. The result - DFS!

Had to use the Aristocrat to take on my actual chin - only area I can't get right with the straight yet. But I will

L'Oreal Men Expert Power face wash
    JR168 Tuxedo Synthetic
    Tabac Soap
    Grah and Plumacher GOTTA straight
    A little alum
Gillette Aristocrat #21 with Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade
And L'OrealMen Expert Birch Sap Balm

Have a lovely evening folks :p

There will be others who might describe it differently than I, but here it goes.
If you were to place your DE razor on your cheek with the top flat against your skin. No blade contact at all. Now you want to ever so slightly lower the handle until you just barely feel the blade. The "riding" is the balance of that position. You should "feel" the cap at all times.
I welcome my friends here at TSD to elaborate further.

Wow. How can I get informed about special sets that The Holy Black does? The sets I've seen from them are so unique and just amazing. I would love to own one of their limited edition sets.
