Thank you, Charlie! I will have to ask her how she has "enjoyed" these past 18. I mean why wouldn't she enjoy them? I gave her some great preparation for children (about 6 years worth); I have even personally been warming her up for the terrible twos we are going into now. Who wouldn't enjoy that?

Unfortunately, as is life with kids, she is at church with the three older ones while our two year old watches me...I mean I watch the two year old. I'll get to ask her as it is time to go to sleep.

I had my wake up call when the surgeon who did my back told me not to come see him again if I wasn't going to take better care of myself.

Thank you, Jim. I appreciate the kind words.

It sounds like you have been through the ringer. I notice you go to the gym fairly regularly now. I hope your back issues are resolved now...or at least a lot better.

At some point, I will have to get at least two vertebrae fused, but for now my back feels pretty good. Honestly since I lost the weight and worked on my core a bit, my back has felt better than it has since my 20's. When I had my unplanned gut surgery in late 2016, my back immediately felt the shock. It hurt just like I did before my back surgery in 2014. It is amazing at how connected your stomach and back are.

Glad to hear the great looking new razor is also a great performer, Andrew. The brush is no slouch, either.
    Happy Anniversary, Jim!
The Type A is rare photo, that’s for sure.
Very smart btw- getting married on Valentine’s Day to only have to buy flowers once...:yoda
Another great photo, Bruce. You are knocking them out of the park lately! We’ll give you a pass on the P&G...;)
Yikes- somehow I got the message right in your quote...please see above, John!

Thank you, Jason! I only wish I could say I was that smart from the beginning. It does help me remember now, though!

I hear you Jim. My 6 abdominal surgeries and resulting muscle damage and scar tissue impact my back.

Oh... oh... I just pulled up the thread to post my shave from today and from yesterday - since I decided to be lazy and not post it. I'm afraid to see how far behind I am. I was really busy yesterday and today was also. I managed to post today's shave on other threads, but those go quicker since I don't include a narrative usually. I ran out of time before I could post here.

My bride and I exchanged Valentine's Day gifts yesterday. I gave her the standard Valentine's gifts (roses, stuffed animals, balloons shaped like hearts and chocolates). Her gifts to me were cooler... much cooler. She's the "Enabler." She got me several vintage razors (I think about eight)... a couple of shaving mugs, vintage blades. Some pretty neat stuff. I haven't even had time to really examine each item. There's some new-to-me items and the razors need to be cleaned up. I think I made her day simply by my reaction to everything she bought me. She's such a sweetheart!

Today, we took my mom to lunch and then went shopping. While the ladies went to clothing shops, I went to a nearby antique mall. I came away with 4 shaving mugs (I guess I have a mug-fetish now), a couple of brushes and three razors.

I'll post pictures of the haul tomorrow or Friday. Time to post two days worth of shaves.

While getting the roses for my bride yesterday I stopped in at a local grocery store. I checked out the shave gear as most of us probably do. While I studied the inventory I saw these Dove products. I don't have any Dove shaving products and haven't tried them. I've noticed a few folks have used them but I don't remember anyone trying this shave cream before. Both of these items were on clearance so I bought them. I ended up using them during my late day shave.

I like the Post Shave Balm. It's very nice.

The shave cream not so much.... but this was only the first time I've used it. I'll try it again. I tried to bowl lather, but wasn't impressed. Then I tried to face lather. The face lather worked best. It did lather... and at first I thought, "This lathers very well." Then I noticed it dissipates quickly. For those who don't like Williams because it disappears.... this stuff disappears more quickly than Williams. In spite of it's disappearing act it remained slick enough. On the second pass, I didn't re-wet my face. I just took the brush and painted it on. This time the lather was paste-like.... stayed a little bit longer but it still dissipated. But what remained was slick. Finally, I wanted to do some clean-up on my neck and I wet my skin.... I attempted to apply some cream with my hand (following the directions) and wasn't satisfied with what I saw. I hit it with the brush and it lathered up very well... but soon disappeared.

I was hoping this shave cream would impress me, but it didn't. The rest of the shave and post shave was good.

The Dove post shave balm is really good. I alternate between it and the Nivea depending on which is cheaper.
