Hi @Queen of Blades and @sparky5693 I was wondering if it would be possible to enable cut & paste in the PM dialog box (ie: paste text from my clipboard as a message to someone). It's not a deal breaker, but it would be a helpful feature, at least for me. Thanks!
Turns out the issue is (seems to be) with getting copied text from google docs onto the clipboard and not in getting it from the clipboard into PM. My bad. edit: Yep, definitely an issue with copying something from a google doc and getting it to the clipboard. The process is normal, but nothing ends up on the clipboard somehow.
Are you using CTRL+C from google docs or rightclick -> copy ? Try pressing esc to clear the clipboad before you copy from gdocs.
1. I find no evidence to suggest that anything good will result from @richgem knowing how to copy and paste more effectively. 2. If I had Google, Wikipedia, & copy and paste, I could have graduated from HS in 7 or 8 years. I'm glad I could help. Well, I guess we can close this problem ticket.
I warn you people about @richgem, and this is the response I get. Go ahead, give him cut and paste, and see what happens! Thank goodness for the security team at Google Docs. Excuse me while I go send them a Valentine!
By the way, was it 7 or 8 years of consecutive schooling or did you need a break somewhere in there because you were so traumatized by being deprived of copy and paste and Wikipedia? As I see it we need to prevent further trauma and disaster. I say copy and paste for everyone without discrimination!
No, you see, I could have graduated in 7 or 8 years if I had all these handy computer tools. Being at such a disadvantage, I required a bit more time. My computer tools in High School consisted of my classmates and I taking turns to use the single computer terminal (something like a teletype). We logged into the mainframe at the Board of Education using a modem and a desk phone. The modem had an accoustic coupler that held the phone receiver. I believe the computer terminal was an Abacus 286. (I was actually the nerdy kid that liked this stuff.) Fun times... See what I mean, @Jayaruh, first we're talking about copy and paste and now we're talkin' about full blown socialism!
