I'm with you there, Clint. I use Nivea 90% of time and other products occasionally simply because I'm trying to use them up. The Dove balm may steal some of that 90% Nivea time.

While you may be technically correct, we all know that language changes and evolves over time. Accordingly, Webster makes revisions in the dictionary each year. As a language pioneer I am using the word gourmand as an adjective meaning “fancy pants”. This is clearly a better use of the word than currently accepted usage. Be on the lookout for Webster’s next Edition to include this change along with the addition of the verb souse.

Don’t pretend you didn’t plan that! Three birds; one stone. Keeps you from having to buy three different gifts too. Genius.

Happens too much. Ought to be a way to slow down or stop these kind of events from happening. Placing retired certified sane armed citizens at entrances?
Shave was top notch. Soap , brush, & bowl combined to provide what I needed for the injector to give perfect reduction. No errors, and the high alcohol AS refreshed.
    Good Shaves Y'all.

Back to trying to finish off this tub of Castle Forbes, I hope can have it done by the end of March. It is getting near the bottom but even with over loading this stuff goes a long way.

A razor with a big smile because today is holiday here. I made so much lather I did an extra pass. Two tiny weepers and a tickle from kept this from being epic.

    February 14 - A week with Williams. Day 6

    Razor - Gem MMOC
Blade - [IMG] ASR Carbon - CVS (3)
    Soap - Williams
    Brush - Semogue 620
    Post - Alum

So was last night's Williams lather the outlier? A strange accident that I somehow stumbled into? Here's tonight's effort to help answer that question.

    Williams Valentine Lather.jpg
Looks like I'm starting a trend here. You'll notice the visible bubbles in the lather and those never go away with Williams it seems, but again, the first pass was a fine pass including the lather lasting all the way through in its own somewhat thinner self. The slickness was unimpeachable. No problem at all with that. As for the second pass? Again, the left side faded a bit more before I got there but I tend to take more time on that pass. Again, the slickness was at 100% the whole way through.

The blade is holding up very nicely. Smooth and effective on day 3 and the final result of a DFS is quite nice. The alum was nice and quiet as well which is getting to be the normal. Today was shave 15 with the OCMM and I appear to have reached the point of consistent results no matter the soap. That's what a Rule will do for you.

That's what a rule does! It forces us to stick with something and learn it, or move on to something we like better. Honestly, it takes more than a few shaves to really learn a new tool.

Fun fact of the day. I was browsing around on Walmart's website to see what kind of soaps they carry since you don't see many in the store. They actually have more than I thought, but given my week with Williams, I checked it out specifically. You can get a puck of Williams for $1.91 from Walmart which makes it $1.09 an ounce. Or, for those who want to buy in bulk and save, you can get a 6 pack of Williams for $12.29. Then you only pay $1.17 per ounce. Yes, those numbers are correct. $1.09/oz for a single puck or $1.17/oz for the bulk pack. Clearly they are counting on people to assume savings in bulk and make a little extra money with that move. That's not a dig on Walmart, necessarily, either as I have seen the same pricing strategy used with other products. Remember.......do the math!

My brother had a summer job in high school as a stocker/bag boy at a local grocery store. Back then, salt was 10 cents a box. The manager made a special display and put up a sign saying 2 for a quarter and sold twice as much salt as they ever had.

And at an extra nickel for every two boxes he bumped his profit nicely! Well played, sir, well played. Some might think that unethical. I think its just proof that people, as a rule, don't use their brains nearly enough.

The kicker came when he told my brother to hop in the car with him. They drove about 3 miles away, to a rather sketchy neighborhood where he had noticed one of his shopping carts in someone's front yard. He told my brother to get out and push it back to the store.
