First shave with the Feather Professional pain stick Japanese style shavette errrrrr thingie. I used the professional Super blade and Palmolive Classic Shave stick. The 30DC Synthetic was awesome with this brush. Finished up with Pinaud Citrus Musk. BULLY!!!!

This was a fun shave. Veddy nice sharp blade in a great feeling handle. I need to work on getting my chin and under my bottom lip. I got it all smooth but still need to work on angles.

A million thanks to @wristwatchb . Charlie gifted this razor..2 packs of blades..the pro and pro super..and a stick of the Palmolive Classic. I love it and will be using it more. I will use the Pro blades next time but do not expect there to be any real difference.

    And as promised Charlie...the video.

Fountain pens are another interesting hobby. Between motorcycles, firearms and shaving, I think I have enough hobbies for now.

But, Fountain Pens can be an easy cheap hobby that you use every day without risking your life - unless your wife kills you for the immovable stain on your trousers.

Fuzzy, thanks for posting the video. I enjoyed watching it, and I'm glad you like the razor. Right out of the chute, you made shaving with the Pain Stick look easy! I will be interested to see how it works for you after you've used it a few more times. For what it's worth, I can easily get 7 shaves out of a Feather SE blade.

I have a folding Feather AC razor that I purchased when I got the Pain Stick. Believe it or not, I have never used it. After I use my Parker SRX for awhile, I may do a side-by-side comparison of both razors.

Thanks again for posting the video!

@jtface, you were interested to learn more about proper skin stretching, so check out this video. You'll learn straight from the master. :)

I've already had a stern warning from the Bride about being careful with the ink. I've long been known as the spiller in the family, so I don't blame her for being concerned. :)

    Favorite February

    February 16 - A week with Mitchell's Wool Fat - Day 1

    Razor - Gem MMOC
Blade - [IMG] ASR Carbon - CVS (1)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
Post - Alum, The Mighty Veg

After beating Williams into submission (thanks to some Foodoo, apparently) I decided to take the next 7 days of my Rule and use Mitchell's Wool Fat. One of my all time favorite soaps and still (tenuously) holding onto the number one ranking in my world. I'm feeling better today, spent an extra long day babysitting a store other than mine today (late close due to holiday weekend) and I was ready to get a great shave on. It's Fatboy Friday but......I'm on a rule, so the OCMM stays in play. Yeah, I probably have it down well enough to move on but a Rule is a Rule and that extra time can make a huge difference as I've discovered before.

New blade in the razor, the Wolf got the Mitchell's worked up good after a long soak for both soap and brush, though I shook the brush drier than with Williams. Two passes and just a bit of touch up on the neck and the baby is in the house, put to bed, sleeping soundly. Alum was slightly warm in a couple of spots but nothing to worry about. Such a classically great shave that I had to add just a touch of the Veg to end it. The wife loves it anyway so it's a special treat for the evening.

Hope you have fantastic weekend plans! I'll be selling mattresses - I hope. Lots of them - I hope.

I would say time for a lather catcher....but that might spoil you on those 2 sided thingies. I have one loaned out. Once I get it back I will throw it your way. A 1912 model or 1914 model would also be a good choice.

I have a 1912 I've used occasionally. That can fill some time before the lather catcher. I have a few other ideas rattling around as well that would be time fillers if nothing else. March Madness is coming up fast after all.

I’ve been bargain shopping on EBay for them.

On another note- I’ve heard that Yaqi is releasing a high mountain white brush in March; have you heard about it?

Nicely done with the pain stick! The main difference between Pro and Super Pro is the amount of blade exposure. Same sharpness, just more of it on your face. Welcome to the club!

Barbasol actually is one of my favorite things. It's February, so today became a Barbasol Day! I recommend this cream to newbies while learning, it is always consistent and more than adequate for a good old propane propelled, 50s style, better-living-thru-chemistry kind of shave. Two passes for the pinaud finish on the usual results. Long weekend for me. Other than that... all is quiet in Colorado
    Have a great weekend!

    Wow this thread moves fast

It is Friday! Well it is Saturday here. Birthday already?!?!? :greet002:

I just realized my tub of Aqua di Parma is getting near the end too.

It is one of the big two holidays here. 80% of the population moves to their home towns. This city is empty which is nice but almost everything is closed.

Then I will use my Rocnel SE-G Monday in honor @clint64 new acquisition.
